[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]
Or you could just use a high def armor and be more tanky. I think there is enough fire +% in the skill tree and weapon already, i am doing around 13k with two average wands and doryani and be getting 50% phys dmg reduction, that could easily go over 70% with endurance, granite and changing one wand for a shield. Don't really need more damage at this point, infernal mantle seems kind of useless to me.
BTW I've been following this build as a marauder. |

This may seem like a stupid question, but how do you, guys, open up strongboxes ? Half the time when I open one I simply die almost instantly... I put my two totems, click the strongbox and then try to run, but it only works half the time :(
For instance, during the current level I have already lost 50% of my experience only to strongbox :( My stream: https://www.twitch.tv/m_bison__

I dunno which dificulty level you are but opening up strongboxes is a problem because no matter how powerful your gaming rig seems to be, it chugs down and stops for a second or two to actually render all the enemies on the screen that are spawning. This however doesn't means it ignores your commands. You should put down the 2 totems, drink a granite flask and have a good cast when damage taken setup. I personally don't follow the sugestion because having to manually cast the enduring cry, meh, besides with the chugs it might not be good enough so the CWDT setup I have is CWDT + molten shell + summon skeletons + ice nova (well mine is differently but I'm doing a variation of this build for some cheese atempt and if it works as well as I hope it does, then i'll post it at some point).
Now first you don't want to be uncaped for resistences, you never know if the box isn't going to throw elemental damage at you and that's all you can do to save yourself. After that you want to have a high armor amount, if you are not using the infernal mantle yet, a good armor piece with extra % armor and you probably want to get it to 20% quallity (if someone says quallity is a waste, tell the to go away, it'ss already relatively high level and if you have been doing the recipes, you should have tons of currency to get your weapons and armor better, there is virtually no downside to upgrading since it lasts a while). Do that for all defense equipment actually. The granite flask should have extra armor bonus too to further increase it. Now what happens is you have already quite a bit of armor from both your armor and a few passives in the tree, the granite flask further pumps it up, the CWDT gives you molten shell that further increases your armor and gives you an extra health pool which when depleted damages the enemy. So you just keep increasing armor to reduce damage. This with placing the 2 totems comes before opening the box. Now as you open the box you drink a healing potion immediatly. preferably one with extra healing speed and freezing removal (cause some boxes freeze you as they open). Then you cast the curese around you to make the enemies around you hit take more damage and thus, die quicker. Now even if the game is frozen it will still execute your comands, your computer is just struggling to put everything on the screen but is still accepting commands and sending them out to the server thus they should get executed. Once you have taken enough damage and CWDT happens, aside from the molten shell 2 things happen. First you summon skeletons. Their purpose is not doing damage but along with the totems, pull aggro away from you. The second thing is a frost nova which at very least will chill the enemies and as such, lower their attack speed, with any luck you crit and freeze them too. Last but not least, if you have a quartz flask than can help too, after using the heal and the curse, pop the flask and you can move through enemies which makes it easy to flee, add a quicksilver for extra speed if you like. Now the last 2 flasks are probably overkill on defense but hey, if that's your only problem dealing with stuff then having those 2 flasks can help. "The heavens burned

" Summon both totems and immediatly cast lightning warp to a safe spot, spam flasks & dual curse flamability+temp chains I might have died a few times due to lag spikes before, after some more attempts i feel way more confident, haven't died in a while this way. By the way, i have CWDT linked to phase run, that acts as both a quartz and a quicksilver flask, helps a lot when you get surrounded. Last edited by elfantasmo#3338 on Aug 28, 2015, 7:23:41 PM

" This. I usually mash my lightning warp button so that even when the game stops for a moment the spell goes of. Also make sure you target a spot you can actually warp to. And DO NOT open strongboxes that freeze you when opening, that will most certainly mean death. |

In my opinion, the best thing one can do is identify the strongbox. It'll tell you everything you need to know to prevent instant death. Also, continually hold down the movement button in the area one wishes to go to escape right when you open it.
For me, a simple quicksilver flask does the trick. However, I have divine flasks that gives immunity to all status ailments except shock for when it's needed. The detonates and ice nova strongboxes are the ones that demand precaution. Just about finished a shadow dual ft build on sc for fun. :D IGN: Tastes_Like_Piety: Lvl 88, Standard, Shadow Melee Tank

I'm looking at the Templar build, wondering if the points leading to Quick Recovery would be better spend reaching Combat Stamina. Here's the diff (ignoring mana stats):
Quick Recovery: 15% increased maximum Life 0.8% of Life Regenerated per Second Combat Stamina: 5% increased maximum Life 1.8% of Life Regenerated per Second 30% increased Armour Difference: -10% increased maximum Life +1.0% of Life Regenerated per Second +30% increased Armour You lose maximum life but gain life regeneration and physical damage resistance. I'm looking for advice or opinions. Thanks OP for the guide and thanks to those who help with feedback. The Analytical Engine has no pretensions whatever to originate anything. It can do whatever we know how to order it to perform.
