Honestly I am not sure which is worse, the outrage over the change or the change in the first place. I do think the decision to change it was incredibly silly, but I am also seeing some people genuinely upset to the point that it seems they are overreacting just as much.

Do want to mention, I've returned after not playing for a year or so, and Marceus Lioneyes naked statue did not used to have a glowing crotch. I am having a sale on pitchforks, 2 exalts each.

That's not the issue. They weren't a subject of great complaint or the like. GGG just felt that they needed updating. It was only after they were updated that the ol' MRA/anti-feminist crowd starting saying how oppressed they were by this change, and tried to make it about this.

The truth is, GGG thought they could do better, so they changed the UI. They are going to add more options in future (likely including the old UI). So being upset about the change is pointless in the extreme.

But failed communication, and people adding more fuel to the fire did not help at all.

Like I posted already in this thread, people have a lot of reasons to despise SJW tyrant-streak. and if anything GGG should have taken an hint about UI options after the last time they tried to change the UI for a far far worse one than this;

that indeed looked like it was being changed for the sake of being changed, and considering the extremely poor work on the previous one -to the point people thought it was two men when it was a man and a woman- and the SJW witchhunt over the past year (really, sometimes I wonder if people learn anything from history) made it so that the most likely conclusion in that case would be a change due to them.
Then the awakening happened, and it was changed again, why people think it might have been due to that? due to history of previous change and the fact that there was no UI change option.
What I think is the truth here? wouldnt be very surprised if it was changed partially due to SJWs, BUT with the intention of protecting the largest release from bad advertisement (hell, these are the kind of people who had Gamersgate Ceo stepdown due to continued attacks, the same kind who got a Nobel Prize winner to lose a job over a joke, its extremely normal to be afraid of these "anti-harassment" "good people") .
It might not be such, but frankly, I would make such a move myself if I was at the head of a company. However I would give a UI change option BUT considering such a huge release, im sure there's more important stuff people are pressed to work on.

For now, to people who quit, I'd like to ask once again to give GGG the benefit of the doubt, do not donate if you feel you cant yet. but do hold the possibility in mind. Give them time, they are working on so much;

To people that dont know, Malachai boss fight ending is not even finished, and doedre and Shavronne voice acting is not there yet, Im sure there are many more issues, nvm some unknown bugs and whatnot

No cuz of field of view exploting + the UI of any game has a great deal of planing and optimization go into it for ease of use and memory retention , slaping bling on top of it could create problems
