What is your opinion about new globes?

New globes are horrible compared to the old version. A proper switch in the options menu should be implemented, so we can pick out our preference.

This thread will have it's day in the sun and then we'll all get back to playing the game. I don't think the art is going to have much effect on us in the long term.

It's the principle of things. This creates a precedent. I want girls in chains around my orbs that's what I want and that's that.

I don't want no half naked men showing me their ass or a cat on my mana orb.

Why mess with a good thing.

I know you mean the lion but I would so pay to put a house cat on my mana orb.
I'm really surprised GGG haven't implemented UI-skin microtransactions yet. This new one could have easily been one (and I'd have bought it, if the price was decent enough).

We definitely need the option to switch between the two, though.

I'm going to be honest for me it's not even about the choice of artwork, it's the constant invasion of PC 3rd wave stupidity. GGG can say it's an artwork choice all they want but I don't believe a word of it, not in the current state of the gaming industry constantly pandering to these fainting couch puritans that need "safe spaces" and the world to bend to their will, all the while running around claiming strong independence (what a joke).

No this is more than a skin on some resource globes. Like I said I don't believe the excuse, a UI update could have been done without changing the core concept of the art. We also have Rachel_GGG throwing around the "misogynistic territory" claims like it's Gawker or Kotaku or The Mary Sue or some other trash rag, I read through the comment and unless they've been deleted ... I have no idea what she's talking about.

From past expirience if it is what I think it is, they will never stop. First it's complaining about globes, then the statues, then the npc's showing a bit much skin, then the blood, then Path Of Whimseyshire.

This account is from 2011 and I've supported this game whenever I could afford to. These changes make me sad because I felt like it was one of the few places left in gaming where we could come and be adults, it was dark, gritty, evil and some skin of all walks were present. I really hope I'm wrong and it is just a style change, and not the wrath of a bunch of rainbow haired trust fund cry baby's throwing their toys out of the pram.

And with all that said, I'm sorry but in my personal opinion the skull looks okay but the lion looks like crap and doesn't suit the game. My perception is you've lost your backbone and integrity, maybe I'm worng, either way I'm out take care and thank you for all the years of fun content.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

It would be great to let people create their own skins, like it was with Winamp. We have huge community, and I think, that amazing things can be created this way.

Very sad decision indeed. Seems like the studio is now too big to allow complete artistic freedom without getting complaints and pressures from various well known groups inside the gaming community.
Meanwhile, the stash still shows only 10 tabs at a time and has a lot of wasted screen real estate where extra tabs could be placed. That's where your UI designers time should have been spent instead of fixing something that wasn't broke.

I first thought that this was far fetched, but then I found something.

Have a peek.

It should be noted that this is no proof of anything other than that SJW activism exists, but there you go.
It also does not address in any way any of the issues people have with the interface other than this.
