[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Strength comes naturally from the tree once you head into enough of the life nodes (a lot of which add strength). You shouldn't need any on gear.

Intelligence is mostly from the tree as well but you will need some on gear. I think I only needed +9 to get it done.

EDIT: For leveling, until you transition into those aforementioned type nodes, take Primal Spirit. It's +20 str/int and will keep your stats up until you can move out of it.

Am lvl 85 i used to have tornado shot on this char but i have reset the skill tree and want to char builds. if any on can check my gear and skills if i should change skills.

I use this Build i the Darkshrine league, so i might be able to give you some tips.

First of all (depending on your budget) try to either 6L your +3 Bow or buy a 6L and transfer your PA Combo to the bow. The Cloud-DMG significantly profits from the +3 boost. Second I would loose either IIR or IIQ gem in your 6L combo and replace it with inc AOE.

The next step is to optimize your cursing. like written in the guide either use a CwDt + Vulnerability + IC + ID Combo, or try cursing manually. Either way you need a Vulnerability gem which means you gotta lose Enfeeble.

My gem setup looks the following atm:


Note that i am leveling another Poison arrow in case corrupting goes wrong and Empower offslot till i finally get a 6L.

For further infos on gems look into the "Gems & Links" section of the guide which would be a good start to begin with.

Regarding your skill tree I would recommend reading the "Level 89 Tree and Analysis of Why We Go Jewel-Based" section of the guide.

Edit: I forgot to mention that you shouldn't wreck your 5L if you are not sure to get either 5L or 6L - but that should be taken for granted...

First, thanks for your reply dmo. You pretty much covered most of what I was going to say.

The one thing I'll add, just to avoid any possible confusion, is that it's better to transfer the PA setup to the bow immediately, regardless of whether it's 5L'd or 6L'd. Not only do you get the +3 levels from the bow itself but Empower also gets the +1 benefit, making it four additional levels by socketing the setup in the bow.

The dps increase should be roughly around 6k just by making that switch alone.

Why Carcass don't count in cloud tooltip?

Known bug. Area damage modifiers do not display on the tooltip.

But don't worry. They do impact the damage.

Im HC player and I have question. Which items You recommend for this PA build if I prefer more toughness instead of magic find?

Honestly I don't need any MF gear :) . Just need survivability.

The guide Serleth suggested is nice.

You might also want to take a look at Havoc's hardcore character Havoc for ideas.

In particular, I found that using Ice Shot instead of Frenzy for curse on hit was very nice (get frenzy charges from Blood Dance for the most part, reserving single target frenzy for bosses); also, Havoc uses the Hidden Potential jewel which is fantastic.

Currently, Havoc's character is wearing a Cloak of Flame - but of course you'll want to upgrade to a Lightning Coil as budget permits.

I noticed that your jewel-based tree and Clad's both end up with 6 jewel sockets, but you spec into Method to the Madness and Corruption and he doesn't. Any idea why that is? They're not all that different aside from that, so I was curious about the difference. I'm using your tree right now in Darkshrine and it's working great.
