[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Just popping in to say I agree with El although if you're looking for a boost to survivability I'd switch to rare gloves with life and IIR.

Alright, so I switched over to some rare gloves and changed out the helm. This is my gear setup now.

Alright so here is the problem. I want to drop the cloth and chains passive. However, this will drop my resist and i'll need to pickup 8 fire, 13 cold, and 11 lightning. Any ideas where to pick this up? I really don't want to use up another jewel slot because my damage really needs to start coming up and using another jewel slot for that will just make things harder in the long run I figure.

Anyways, as always, any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

btw, I was going to ask you Serleth, which build is more up to date? The YouTube video or the one in the forum post? I migrated my build to the one from the YouTube video to try and get up some more lvl's.

The one marked "Guide Update" is the one running the current tree. The other one is out of date as it was not jewel based.

I've left it up for demonstrative purposes as it does still cover a lot of good points a bit more in depth than the update video does, but that's also why I edited the description awhile ago warning that the tree was out of date.

You can cover off the remainder of your cold or fire by changing out your gloves for a similar pair with lit + other resistance. Pretty sure you can't mastercraft res on that as I think you have dual prefix and suffix IIR rolls.

You can then exchange your amulet for a similar one with res all + the other resistance (cold or fire) in order to cover off that.

At that point, that only leaves you the remainder of the lightning resistance to cover off, which you can fix up with a lit res + damage jewel.

What that will allow you to do is keep the exact same point investment you currently have and get the additional jewel socket near Vaal Pact. If you can get a dual damage jewel with lit res, then you're in GG mode.

Failing that, since you would only have one resistance left, you could spec out of cloth and chain and get the scion area 18% lit res node, which saves you one point that you could invest elsewhere for damage.

Good to know I'm following the right build lol. Hey, do you stream on twitch by any chance? I would really love to see the capabilities of this game when you hit like 18k damage on pa and seeing as i'm just barely above 12k, I got a ways to go =p.

I don't get how people can think PA is boring.

One pack is dead before I even have a chance to fire my next arrow.

Oh, and the map is done in 3 minutes.

thats exactly whats boring about it. it takes zero effort. you just run around the map pressing one button here and there. at least with discharge and stuff theres an awesome sound and effects, but not with PA.

my other builds always incorporate multiple curses so im at least slightly micromanaging some keystrokes. with PA all i do is hit Q for my PA, and 3 for my quicksilver flask. after 3 minutes or whatever i hit middle mouse button for portal. woweee ya thats fun and excitement right there!
Fair enough.

If you piped in saying you were running a CoC build I would've been like "it's the same thing, just prettier" lol.

@Veridux: No, I don't. I crash too frequently to be able to stream reliably. I'd like to but there's no way I'd have viewership retention when they have to wait 10 minutes at least once a day for me to restart the computer and load back in.

Hopefully going to have my calculator upgraded to an actual computer by Christmas.

Lol.

I know the feeling. I was lucky that when I bought mine some 5 years ago i bought the right parts. CPU wise computers have not advanced almost anything at all in the last few years so my current CPU is still very good. I could get a better one but only marginally so (I do use amd cause it's cheap and price vs performance you can't beat it). My graphic card did changed about a year ago or so but really only because my old one died cause it was still going strong and it was relatively cheap. The only thing my computer could really use in terms of hardware upgrades would be an SSD and anotehr 8gb of ram ehich I do intend to get at some point or another.

If you are able to build your own PC I'm pretty sure you can get your PC done cheaper and lasting a very long while, considering there are no grand leaps in tecnology in the coming years.

Does it matter what base bow you use for this build? (never played bow user before)
Technically, no, but you'll want/prefer a relatively high aps base to make sure you can fire arrows with reasonable speed to help avoid things like getting stunned, or compensating for misfires.

The best two bases to consider are the Short/Grove/Thicket bow progression (any base is fine as long as it's ilvl 64+) as they have the highest base aps, or alternately the Maraketh bow for the implicit 6% movespeed which will help compensate somewhat for Goldwyrm's low 10% increased MS.
