Incident Report for Item Loss Bug

It's very unprofessional... " We can't restore items " Probably because of the TOS...

Like seriously wtf... doesnt even add up to behave like this and try to act professional about it..

It's like pooping on ur customers.. What you are saying is pretty much we can restore MTX because you payed for it, but we can't retrieve your lost items because you had to suffer to find them, theyr gone now and we dont really care because according to GGG ToS they can just screw everything up..

Change mentality plz, when you manage to do stuff like this to people it's bad PR!


I did not lose any items, but I got a feeling after this post they might just log into my account and throw some stuff away, maybe a mirror of kalandra or all of them, just to have fun with their power abuse.

Well it may be unacceptable to them, but it must be accepted by you if you lost an item. I am sure they are agonizing over at GGG about the hundreds of hours some people had to spend in order to buy the things they lost.

Honestly if I lost anything on hardcore I wouldn't really care and I probably would never know, i got to many characters that just sit on hardcore that are never played as the league is a shadow league with a hand full of players to scared to try the 4 month challenge leagues.
There is always fresh economy so no need to cry about old characters that are outdated.
Play a new league with everyone else and get your shavrones back

Well it is easy to check who paid and who didn't.

This sounds like a real shitty bug. Both for those affected by item loss and for those trying to fix it.

I do believe they should do what they can to compensate players who legitimately lost items.

by the way im am one of the people afflicted.. no i did not lose a 6l shav or a stack of mirrors. I lost a rare wand, most of you would probably laugh if i could actually link it. But it was important to that char and he is ruined now (he is on HC and there is nothing on the market to replace it). Sorry im attached to chars in this game i have used alot of time on..

What scares me most about this whole incident is that GGG pretty much shits in everyone's faces because theyr TOS doesnt allow restoring items due to ANY REASON AT ALL.. NOT EVEN IF GGG SCREWED UP WILL THEY CARE..

It's so freaking unprofessional that I dont want to play this game anymore just by knowing the fact that there's no freaking respect to customers. If I owned Path of Exile myself I would not be so retarded that I let Diablo 3 have the majority of the player base.... Diablo 3 doesnt even have trading like wtf....

I'm offended by reading all the shit GGG had to offer on this matter....


The message from GGG pretty much sounds like this: Hey we fucked up people lost items, we cant really explain why but we cant restore your items. ( We all know ur TOS sucks on this matter )
However if u lost some Microstransactions then ( you can mail GGG and retrieve them ).
We are sorry for the loss of ur items, but in the end we dont care because we can fuck up as much as we like and delete every single item from this game and YOU cant do shit about it...

That's the GGG mentality I get from this amateur offer.. This is facts and not an attack.. WAKE UP!

I sometime wonder if the game ever got released or still in Alpha/Closed Beta when shit like this actually can happen in year 2015....................... I give up, i've enjoyed the game and i've now seen it all.. GGG actually gives bad reputation to keep the player base low... Ridiculous!

The fact that Chris has come along here and apologized says a lot about GGG as a company.

The fact that GGG aren't sufficiently logging these changes and don't have systems in place to recover says far more than an apology. I'm in software development, if a bug of this magnitude happened to us and cost a customer potentially months or years of work we'd be out of business - The fact that this is a game and not say a different hosted service is of little to no consequence, people invest a considerable amount of time and money into this game, errors like this are unacceptable.

I would be devastated if I lost either of my 6L Shavronne's Wrappings, because it took me the better part of two years of grinding to acquire them. For the fanboys that say, "Oh, they're just pixels, get over it", they're only humming that tune because they didn't experience such a loss themselves. They're the same kind of individuals that will side with law enforcement beating the shit out of someone in a blatant act of police brutality and say, "son of a bitch deserved it, because he knew better than to fuck with the police", while in the meantime they themselves, a friend, or a loved one gets similar treatment and they'll be the first to squeal "POLICE BRUTALITY!" The worst kind of hypocrites possible.

I work in IT as well and you'd better damn believe they'd be rolling back their servers if they fucked up and let a bug of this caliber go live.

The biggest irony is that the source seems to be from people who were either participating in the 2.0 beta (testing your software for free) and/or recent supporters who donated by purchasing supporter packs. Unbelievable.
