The key thing to consider here: what does 100 ms mean?

100ms is 1 tenth of a second.

are you all proposing that you can react faster than ten times
a second? I must assure you that biologically you can not.

back in the day counterstrike was playable at 200-300 ms.
though we would notice this was inadequate at some instances.

the moment cable internet showed up, offering sub 100ms,
it was 100% player skill. you lost because you were slow,
not your internet.

100ms is blindingly fast, you can not react that fast at all.

Counter Strike is pretty much unplayable above 100 ms latency... even 50 ms feels laggy in fast paced shooters. So no :P

I have high latency...

GGG, you need to create a server here in south america!
I cant say how pleased i am by this. So many things ive tried in that past that were a TON of fun to play, and unusual builds at that were cut short by sync issues. Indeed ive run a few builds that were so horrid at syncing that even stopping every 30 seconds to resync was pointless, as the very next attack was still likely to be out of sync. it was just a nightmare. Especially with me on fiber internet i cant WAIT for this to go live(or to get a beta key). Gonna let me play with all sorts of new fun stuff.

I wont go over what the other two have, but some things you are obviously not aware of about latency.

First, 100ms is HIGH when playing something competitive, first consider that no matter WHAT you are adding that much time to your "reaction" time, which means even if your reaction time is the same as theirs, you loose because they get to react "first" when they have a 5ms latency. So no you will NEVER see a pro playing with 200-300 ping. While you MIGHT be able to do good in a pub(and that is iffy) you will never see a top team raping another top team with 100+ms latency over them. Which is also partially while the end part of major tourneys are played on LAN, it ensures that latency is not an issue. Also i can tell you even in something like diablo 2 that even a 200ms latency is VERY noticeable to a skilled player vs a latency of 50. So yes, it DOES make a huge difference, even in a player vs monster game. i would say that 150-200ms ping is about the HIGHEST you can go and expect to be able to do anything without a major handicap.

I have a question (sorry if it was asked before but not gonna read through 33 pages of mostly useless replies).

How it will work in parties, if members use different modes?

The end of Desync!!!
no more sync macros ?? happy days :)
IN FACT I would like to know what latency and connection u need if pos. ports wise? what connection u need to use this mode at best potential.

Since i dont want my game to auto pause every time that will be annoying.
