Update on Deterministic Lockstep

With 40ms I feel like I should be able to use this without any problems....SO looking forward to it. First I was like "Meh, I might come back for the next update"

Then "Awww yisss Act 4 and lots of new stuff"

But now "Omfgwthbbqftw"

I'm so excited to try out the Deterministic Lockstep!!! My lvl 88 witch died last night due to Desync while fighting a Rogue Exile. One second I'm popping pots and hauling butt far away from the rogue, a couple of seconds later I'm back to where I started and dead.

I can handle a bit of input lag to avoid situations like that.

It sucks to lose 10% of the XP towards your next level at lvl 88!
66 ping, so I guess it's gonna be okay to play with lockstep.

But, the real question is: will we finally have spell/particle fx lowering options?
That shit just CRUSHES my fps, can't even play in bigger than 2 man parties.

Not so far but the effects of spells don't stack up and display individualy so it shouldn't be that bad now

Oh wow. Good news.
Usually around 30-40ms ping here so this will be very interesting!

Unfortunately i currently don't have a lot of time to play but i will be sure to test it and provide feedback! - Imagine a Cleave that really hits what it appears to hit xD.
I am used to playing online games with ~130ms ping so the 40ms should be barely noticeable once everything is running smoothly.

Glad you took the time to develop this, it might make things a ton better when playing melee in hc!

You also mentioned East/West Coast servers to help with the low latency any kind of update to that Chris? Honestly I dont do to bad in the latenct department so should be fine. But connecting to a West Coast server instead of Texas would definately help :)

This is a major change for GGG to have done! Considering that you might have had some code constraint to work through, and keeping code 100% bug free will always be a challenge. This is a very complex problem to resolve! You guys did it!

Well done, I say this because folk might not have sight of all the work that has to go into this type of change.

Again, this is a major achievement for GGG!
