Yes closed beta is the game. What game do u think you're playing some rip off version of the game? Hell no. Most of the monsters and dungeons layouts will keep the same consistent AI and movement. Which all current players will and can be strategized for, for months.. Which is an obvious advantage over non-closed-beta players.

Arrogance is bliss my friend.

Advantage? It's not like they will invade your maps and crush you with their superior strategy...
The race for power is artificial in this game.
Balance is an illusion, exile.

By this logic the ladder for leagues are irrelevant and have no competition.. yeah no. Nice try.

You better. It's a slap in the face from GGG to all their loyal players and their own philosophy beliefs.

It's atrocious and sickening that GGG would stoop down this low.

How about this: poe challenge: 5 days solo, no trade. Those who kill merc dominus within the time limit are granted Beta access! :)
Monkuar you don't even race, what do you care? Plus open beta is plenty of time to catch up on all the amazing knowledge bombs that your imagining your missing out on.

I wonder if you'd still feel the same way if you had a top tier supporter title? Some how I doubt it . Your just sounding tres salty to be honest, but each to his own I suppose.

The fuck does it matter if I am a racer? How is that even relevant or change the fact that closed-beta-supporters have a few month advantage over the game towards new players at launch? That's objective fact.

I brought up the race argument because the leagues are competitive.. me not being in a race doesn't mean shit.

That doesn't directly affect gameplay. And why would you play just for the sake of being in the ladder? Who cares? The amount of no-life required for that is just unbelievable; that's not a concern for the majority of players. The main quality of PoE is to try out new builds and have fun razing things!
You say that it would spoil the fun out of it if some creep from the other side of the globe does it faster and more efficiently than you because of whatever "unfair" reason? What the hell.
And how the hell being on the CB gives you advantage? From what I know that isn't the final product and a lot of stuff is gonna change when 2.0 comes; the real PoE is 1.3.1 that everyone have acess. How halting your progress on a character that won't be wiped to play a temporary character will give CB players a leap over you? If you think about it is just the contrary; those players (some of them) are sacrificing their progress in order to give feedback to the DEVs.

Again..you have valid points but these do not change the fact that the closed beta players are indeed having an advantage.... Why dont you understand this..

By definition of Pay 2 Win, the advantage amount is irrelevant. It could be just strategizing around 1 bosses AI and knowing their movement/etc, or 20... It's still an advantage.

"Debacle" barely describes what's been going for the last few weeks.

Anyhoo.. Hopefully GGG will figure out a way to undo some of the damage that's occurred (when it comes to some of the player base). I hope so.

I feel they're going to lose some potential dollars in the near future. For those that ask: "why?", there are answers to that question all over the forums.

Act IV and its Beta were handled poorly, whether they want to admit it or not. And a little more thought should've been put into it before all of the announcements were made.

It's too late for that now, so "damage control" is the way to go. Just get it done as quickly as possible, or those "potentially lost dollars" will increase.

Don't ask an architect to give you heart surgery, and don't ask a heart surgeon to design you a building... <--- if you can read between the lines of that comment, great.. and my sincere apologies if it offends anyone. It's just what I see and have seen for a long time. If you're a heart surgeon, stick to heart surgery. And hire an architect to design the hospital you want to work in.

IMPORTANT: None of this will stop me personally from supporting GGG/PoE, I admire the game and those that designed it. I am still on the white knight side of the fence, but it would be against my nature to not point out something that I feel might benefit GGG/PoE/players.
