Racing is relevant because you mentioned it at some point in your ranting.

Assuming you can't play closed beta why can't you catch up on the almost guaranteed open beta?

Yeah because I'm definitely ranting saying that racing is a competitive part of Path of Exile's leagues.

Damn, that hurt so much. I'm so salty and mad! /s

The only thing they will carry will be their knowledge, which you can also obtain trough reading a lot of articles and watching streams and whatever.
If you work on your permanent character while they are testing a temporary game client in a temporary server, is YOU that will have the edge when they are forced back in our realm. Unless you are a complaining poser who doesn't play if there's no hype and just sit back there drooling on top tier players. I'm no good player but I dont envy them.

What? The character being wiped is irrelevant......... I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about game knowledge and expertise that will be gained and be put into those closed beta players minds. All that information they have accumulated over their beta test will be to their advantage over the new players who never had a chance to experience or fight the bosses, know their AI, get the feel of the new dungeons, etc, etc..

So it is closed beta in general you can't stand, or T1 supporters being granted earlier access as opposed to perhaps being randomly selected that bothers you?

Following your logic I should not try new games because old players know more than me. #Kappa
The fact that there's ppl who know more than you doesn't drag you down, they wont be by your side swinging taunts of how noob you are. In fact, it will only help you because there will be lots of players whose you can ask for information, wiki pages about it, guide videos, etc.
I think u mad cause you wont be one of the first XXX players to kill X boss. Or bitter cus you didn't receive your key YET.

It's definitely more than 10 seconds, and it's not just 1 boss. There are a lot of new bosses.

And regardless if it's 10 seconds or 1, it's still an advantage, and still Pay 2 Win. This doesn't change the fact.

Of course it is and yes, that 1 seconds makes all the difference. Tremendous advantage if they manage to kill a boss on normal 1 second faster than you. BOYCOTT EVERYTHING EVERYONE, THEY JUST GAVE ALL SUPPORTERS INSTAGIB WHILE THE REST OF US GOT A GNARLY BRANCH TO FIGHT UBER ATZIRI I'M OUT OF HERE.

Anyhoo.. Hopefully GGG will figure out a way to undo some of the damage that's occurred (when it comes to some of the player base). I hope so.

I feel they're going to lose some potential dollars in the near future. For those that ask: "why?", there are answers to that question all over the forums.

Act IV and its Beta were handled poorly, whether they want to admit it or not. And a little more thought should've been put into it before all of the announcements were made.

It's too late for that now, so "damage control" is the way to go. Just get it done as quickly as possible, or those "potentially lost dollars" will increase.

Don't ask an architect to give you heart surgery, and don't ask a heart surgeon to design you a building... <--- if you can read between the lines of that comment, great.. and my sincere apologies if it offends anyone. It's just what I see and have seen for a long time. If you're a heart surgeon, stick to heart surgery. And hire an architect to design the hospital you want to work in.

IMPORTANT: None of this will stop me personally from supporting GGG/PoE, I admire the game and those that designed it. I am still on the white knight side of the fence, but it would be against my nature to not point out something that I feel might benefit GGG/PoE/players.

monkaur, you took my comment completely out of context and I don't appreciate it. Try to be part of the solution, not the problem

Closed beta in general is fine. I respect GGG's stance and limitation of getting new people and their philosophy around that.

What isn't okay is them having T1 / + other supporters who only were eligible because of their donation amount. That is inappropriate and definitely over the line in my opinion. That's not fair for us loyal players, me, you, and others who have donated thousands in points (not me specifically, but I know others who have), but not a pack? But don't even get access either? That's not right.

I wouldn't even care about the advantage of the 'selected few' and the random people that will get into Beta. But once you start involving money to access the beta, that crosses the line and literally it becomes Pay 2 Win. Winning in this game for some people means who can get the highest level in the leagues first. (Yes I know, not everything thinks like this), but it is 1 type of feature. And for closed beta supporters to know the bosses AI, character design levels and get a feel of the game for months before new players right when the league starts? There are AT A HUGE advantage! And again, that is fine if it were just a select few, but people have only donated $ to get access to that? That's not right and it's a disgrace to us loyal players.

Haha, LOL.
These guys seems to forget that most bosses are ambulant gearchecks and killing them depends more about having a good reaction (also depends on your connection, assuming that lockstep will make you hate your ping more than desynch) to one hit kill mechanics (easy to memorize).
In the end, it's how far you are in the actual PoE (1.3.1) that matters.
If you think that a new player that only played beta will kill The Beast on merc faster than a non Beta player which has 3 lvl 80 characters then im sorry for you.
Balance is an illusion, exile.
What if, let's say some player in beta, writes a really good build guide and open beta starts like a second later and some other supporter is still playing closed beta and can't see the post in forums thus persists with his shitty character, but the rest of us see it and start playing it.
Does that make us Pay 2 Win instead of that guy? Or is it now Pay 2 Lose? :O

I am too, because that person would be at an advantage. It matters in leagues when it's competitive, obviously you don't care.
