some of these remarks my god wtf is wrong with you people if someone paid well over 1 k dollars to support they better dam well be testers of the game and it's not like they get a headstart after closed beta is finished everything will be reset again

at least thats what happened in the last closed beta right?

Until you're selected by the timer, there should be plenty of streams of the new content to watch. None of the information is under NDA, so it's fine for testers to tell you about their experiences.

I didn't see any Streamer bonuses mentioned or 1k cash mentioned there either...must be really tiny print in between the lines.

We've received a lot of questions about what's going to happen when the Closed Beta starts tomorrow. This post is a short explanation of how that'll work. It also includes a copy of the first Balance Notes for the expansion.

When the countdown hits zero, the Closed Beta servers will become live. The Beta Invite Timer will then start selecting users at the rate of one per five minutes. As soon as we can, we'll invite Alpha testers and certain Streamers to the Beta to join the members of the public who are selected.

We'll be speeding up the timer over time and implementing additional ways for people to get access (fan giveaways, maybe some in-game stuff, etc).

This has nothing to do with a P2W advantage, and everything to do with GGG giving a nod of appreciation back to the people who put half a month's salary toward making Act 4 even possible.

Without the T1 contributors, particularly early on in this game's existance, do you think PoE would even still be around? Highly unlikely.

AFAIC, give them keys. I get to continue to enjoy this game because wealthier folk than I could care less about throwing $1,000 across the world. They deserve a little something in return for keeping Wraeclast alive.

Dude. Do you even know how many more advantages people that play the beta will have as compared to people who are brand new to the expansion? A !@#$%^&* ton. That is the definition of pay to win. And I never knew GGG would ever, EVER do this kind of crap.

They are offering closed beta keys in exchange for money. And what to do those closed beta keys give? An advantage over all the other grunts like me who never GOT TO PLAY. Then, once the league's are released.. who will be on top and know everything first? The people who were in beta. It's sickening.

Sorry but everything is wrong in your post.

1. The only advantage is that they already have played some areas of act 4 and learn about the new mechanics in game, which, if you want, you could learn watching streamers in the internet. Remember that all characters, items and progress are going to be deleted.

2. They are not offering closed beta keys for money. There is any supporter pack available to buy right now that could give you one beta key. They just gave beta keys for their biggest supporters, which is fair and awesome.
Also, they are offering beta keys randomly to all players and they are creating some special events where anyone could win.

Cheers people, time is passing (too slowly I know!) and the final version of the expansion will be here for all.

There should be NO 'head start'.

Everyone should be on a equal level playing field at launch.

These people did not pay to get into the beta. The had no idea paying back then would lead to beta access now.

Exactly? Those players will now know how to access that town more efficiently than others in the leagues. Thus guess what? They will obtain higher level characters than others, and be at the top of the new league's ladder. (Climb it faster, navigate through town faster, skill tree, etc, etc). That.. in itself is an advantage if you like it or not.

'Learn' watching streamers is a straw man argument that holds no weight. That doesn't change the fact that you're paying $ for earlier access, now does it?
