its just not good, the only possible good thing to come of this is allowing some potentially new builds that actually have a use for the new mana shield, and you can still have that benefit by just adding it as a different node by itself without taking a wrecking ball to large portions of the game.

Good write up dude. I wish the devs were listening, but I think there have been too many apologists that have given their support to this change simply because they support any change GGG makes.

I hope I am wrong and this awful change gets rolled back.

The change to EB is horrible. I saw streamers honestly try to make it work, but it is extremely clunky even for simply casting the spells. Let alone using it for MoM or AA. In fact there is no way to use AA with EB now.
If GGG thinks that EB+MoM+AA is overpowered (which is arguable by itself), then a way to balance things is to nerf the individual pieces instead of destroying the whole combo completely. GGG, please stop ruining entire builds left and right.

Sure there is, you take the keystone and then you put on clarity and get enough mana and mana regen % to run AA.

The data mined values on the beta show you can still run a level 25 AA. Since EB doesn't affect mana regen taking EB in no way limits if you can run AA. So you can take EB and run AA, it's just that now taking EB doesn't help you run AA as much as it did before. GGG nerfed EB and actually buffed AA (lowered the drain). They did exactly as you suggested.

Why would you add more mana to use when you could just run Clarity and some low level Elreon Rings, this just makes it redundant and it becomes just another filler Keystone in the Passive Tree.

Like Avatar of Fire. (One buff to AoF would be to add a 25% More Fire Damage.

I support Snorkle but I have the feeling this has already been set in stone.

On a final note...

Just because you can run the new EB, doesn't mean you should.

Viability guys, think about that.

I dunno... It kills a lot of meta-builds and potential future builds.

Perhaps there should be a secondary [yes / no] toggle on the keystone to dictate whether or not it functions in the new functionality.

IE: You accept the keystone and it gives you a second option to either cover your mana or convert your ES.

There are definitive builds that be made from either and it just seems silly to completely convert potential outlets from a keystone that's been around for so long.

Just my pitch in the schematic...
