A potential change I'm keen to hear your thoughts on
GGG, you need to LEARN some things
1 - You don't nerf something to fix something else. EB is NOT BROKEN. MoM is. Fix MoM. By breaking EB you essentially have to change everything around casting or you are going to piss everybody off. 2 - You don't nerf something when you can fix what is really broken. You think caster defenses are too high. They simply are not. You think people are doing casters because they are strong. The truth is simply your melee is STUIPID DUMB BROKEN. Armor probably should be x2 stronger. Melee needs something that can break vases from a distance. These are the reasons people don't play melee. FIX what is really broken, not what isn't. | |

Why? exactly because it's filled with old op items that will make even the most stupid and useless build "viable"ish. That's the point, stop talking about standard, it's an illusion, it's a dump for old gear and old mistakes. It's trash can. So your line of thinking, that something is "ok" because it will work on standard and not on new leagues, is just pure trash. The patch is made, for the new leagues, the new leagues, is THE GAME. I gave you the numbers what else do you need? 60 mana regen a second does not sustain 250-300 mana cost ability (that's 5l cost). It doesn't. 60/=300. do you understand? Any good totem build, uses two totems, you will not sustain. the end. Melee better see more improvement than this shitty support gem/skill they are adding. Currently its a joke in HC. I hope the beta shows them something of value pertaining to this... To the people who think melee is OP need to recheck what melee needs to actually go through before they kill anything.

1) I didn't read the 55 previous pages. Don't know how we could blame me for that. 2) I talk for the case of new challenge leagues, not permanent ones where what I say is no longer true. (in perma league, gear just do everything) 3) I'm not complaining about EB change. EB mechanic is changing, I'll be more than happy to test that in the beta or when the 2.0 is released. To me, it's just a door open to completely new possibilities. " I disagree with this statement. When we start a new character in a new challenge league, sustaining enough mana to hold AA and MoM at the same time is expensive (or it seems). Just a personal example, in the recent challenge race, my character lvl 80 "only" has ~250-260 mana regen after taking : - Eldrich Battery - 10 mana regen nodes for a total of +185% mana regen, spending a total of 17 skill points (only 1 was on the path, I had to travel a bit for the others or cross some x% increased maximum mana) - 70% mana regen on my jewelry - 2 auras : Clarity + Discipline (both lvl 17) - +/- 600 ES gear in total (chest/gloves/boots, I'm using a staff as a weapon) At this point, I'm able to sustain a lvl 20 AA (~220 mana drain) + the mana cost of my skills but certainly not MoM (would be even worse I use Inner Force but let's pretend I don't). If I want to be able to sustain MoM, I'll have to buy better pieces of gear to have more ES (-> more mana -> more mana regen) and a better jewellery to try to reach 350-400 mana regen so the MoM can be efficient (and not drying all the mana in a fraction of a second). If I sum up my skill tree : - 36 dps nodes (additional curse included but it can be both offensive and defensive) - 12 mana/mana regen nodes - 24 hp nodes (+151%) - 29 basic nodes (+10 xxx or +30 xxx) - Eldrich Battery I really feel that I'm making an investment to build up my defense : half of my points are used to improve my pool of hp and defense (only a portion of the mana regen really contributes to improve the dps by sustaining a continuous use of the skills). So I'm sad when I read that you consider that investment is still low (or maybe I put too much points for what I want and I could reduce it ?). I know that you have thousands of data I don't have so you are in much better position to determine if a skill/combination of skills is overpowered :) but the interesting question is : According to your criteria, what should be the investment needed for a player to get such a defense ? Knowing that Dexterity side have easily access to Ondar's Guile/Acrobatics and the Force side have an early access to Unwavering Stance when Mind Over Matter is at the opposite of the Intelligence side. Subsidiary question : Maybe could we expect that MoM becomes more accessible to casters if Eldrich Battery is reworked the way we see it on the screenshot ? In a permanent league I agree that it's easy to reach enough mana regen thanks to the insane gear available but in a challenge league it's way more complicated to reach that goal (or I feel it's harder to reach it). How are casters even supposed to spam spells now? The ES would just be gone and it would be back to mana.

" Little math for you since you love it so much. I would assume to get 1k ES through gear and passives easily (I would have more but I'm just trying to make it easy for you). With the ring, would have 40ES/sec. I'll assume a 300 mana totem spell just to hit your higher end. 1. Encounter pack, cast first totem. 1000ES is now 700. Lets assume a one second cast time. 2. Cast second totem. 740ES (700+40 regen) is now 440. 3. You now have 440+regen while first totem is rolling. If it dies, you have enough ES to cast it a third time + whatever you have regened. Over next 6 seconds you will regen another 240 ES putting you at 680 when recharge may start. 4.Very easily can knock out another 1-2 totems if need be before recharge. I would say in all, I could put up 4-5 totems before having to retreat a moment for recharge. As for your commentary on leveling up, 20 hours in a week is quite out of the question and definitely approaching no-lifing. You mentioned a job, very happy for you. How about a family? How about obligations to said family? Don't pretend like you have a clue because it is quite clear you don't. Hell, you only have a 2 next to your name...a 2. You apparently can't even do the simple challenges of a 3 month league let alone a 1month. Hah. " Hahahahhahha. Seriously, read more. Your interpretation was easily wrong with context. All leagues, temporary and permanent. Speaking of leagues in the past is not relevant to this discussion so why would I ever reference them?? Obviously I'm referring to current leagues. Anything else does not apply and is not relevant...so again, why would I possibly reference prior leagues. Besides reading comprehension, apply a little thought to it as well. As for your thoughts about Standard, I don't really care about them in the slightest. As I said, I play all leagues (and just for your reading comprehension, I'll help you out....All current leagues with the exception of Hardcore permanent, no one currently in that league being played). I love this change, I'm looking forward to seeing if it still works out for all involved.
As for spell casters not being able to spam spells, isn't there a new jewel coming up that will allow you to get +2 (possibly more range) to energy shield per hit? This could also be going on weapons as a new mod entirely, if not and it is only the jewel.. well there ya go. get the jewels. | |
" You're over thinking their reasoning, they don't care if it's hard to achieve point wise or cost wise, league or non-league, they care that it's possible at all! They want us to be squishy so they can have a fake facade of difficulty! Anytime something proves to be a reliable form of "survivability" even in the slightest they are going to step in and nerf the ever living shit out of it to keep this "fake facade" of difficulty going. And it doesn't stop at defensive, I would put my soul on the line that crit/crit multi is next, it's probably going to get hit so hard that CoC is going to need a full rework to the support to even function...you just wait and watch, I know i'm right! As for topic at hand, I think MoM needs to be reduced to 25% or 20% if they really want to stick it to us again, like they prove time and time again! Everything else should stay the same, but knowing them by watching them do their "so called balance" over the time-span of this game that wont be enough...they will nerf the mana/regen on tree, just wait and watch! But if they are going to do it, they need to get rid of legacy's because people in standard will just stick with the legacy version, it will only fix leagues! Legacy's are pointless, they thought they were too powerful, otherwise they wouldn't of did stat reworks, so why have them??? Long over do change, no other game keeps something around after it's stats have been adjusted!!! |
