Race Season Ten Prizes, Patch 1.3.0k and Cheating
" Why is this hard to believe? The game has repeatedly broken 50,000 concurrent users. It's not hard to fathom that 100,000 accounts logged in over the course of a week or so. |

I'd like some clarification on what exactly "Single-action hotkeys (like an alt+f4 macro)" means. Or rather, what kind of macro would not fall into this group? Is there such a thing as "Multi-action hotkeys", and how can we tell the difference?
I saw a few posts above that someone said chat commands like "\itemlevel" are safe, I'd like an official confirmation of this. Also, what about other chat macros? I have simple things like "invite pls" and "thanks" programmed to one of the extra buttons on my mouse for convenience, does that count as cheating? These vague rules are really intimidating. I have never and would never consider using a map hack or anything similar, yet I can't tell whether or not the rule applies to me. Of course I could just start the client and check, but then I would have wasted my one warning and would only have a single chance at correcting the problem. The warning should at least display some information on the nature of the cheating software detected, so anyone who receives the message that hasn't intentionally tried to cheat knows what to turn off to be safe. I can relate to the general "ban all dirty cheaters without warning" sentiment, but you should all keep in mind that sometimes detection systems also produce false positives (e.g. a perfectly harmless program freaks out the server for some reason). Also, there is the issue of stolen/hacked accounts. In my opinion completely destroying the account of a first offender is a bit harsh, it may have been an honest mistake after all. Unless GGG can guarantee that their detection algorithm is 100% failsafe... Last edited by Saerileth#5783 on Jan 20, 2015, 1:09:18 PM

" You mean the "Highlight Items" feature? I don't see anything else (like sort by name or type). Last edited by Tanit#7208 on Jan 20, 2015, 1:11:07 PM

" /itemlevel is ok. That's 1 action. I understand that you want official confirmation but I think it's really difficult for Chris and GGG to go into too much detail since every word they write will be used against them if it's at all possible. Multi-action would for example be the popular logout macro which uses all your flasks and then logs out. As a side note, I use the AHK script which shows you the clipboard information after you ctrl-c something in game. This is pretty obviously an ok script, it takes the information the game itself has put on the clipboard and displays this in a white box, adding calculations like DPS and information on how many sockets the item can have. It's exactly the same as clicking ctrl-v in an open notepad but instead of having notepad open in another window, AHK just displays this information in a box wherever your cursor is. Highly recommended. Here's the official thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/790438 |
