How does shock duration increase works from added lightning damage and shock nova?
If my shock nova trigger it's shock (from quality, not critical), does it gets the bonus duration from the added lightning damage quality bonus? Is the chance to shock on hit simply added together and trigger only if lightning damage is dealt? Build of the week #9 - Breaking your face with style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_EcQDOUN9Y

The wiki says "Each percentage of quality adds +1% Shock duration on enemies." Well that's fairly useless.
Let's assume 20% quality is "20% increased shock duration." That'd make the most sense to me. If that's the case: 1) You cast shock nova, 10% chance to shock with quality, 13% chance to shock with EW, so like 23% chance to shock. 2) Game calculates base shock duration from nova damage + added lit damage and mob health. I'm pretty sure you already know how that works :) 3) Final shock duration = base shock dration * ( 1 + sum of all increased shock duration bonuses ) 10% from shock nova. 20% from added lightning damage. If you are running prolif, 10%. Seems like a nifty idea, you'll be doing more lit with the gem to begin with, and more lit because of EW, so base shock duration gets longer then multiplied by 130% afterwards. Might I suggest trying proliferation with this, so your shock nova triple-shocks everything whenever you fire on a large pack. If it says "20% more shock duration..." well, then, it works completely differently. But I doubt it says that. -- I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago. I have a question about the minions : are the minions affected by auras/buff? Can you buff your minions with the active skills you use to buff your party?
|
|
" They are affected by auras, but they are not considered party members. So they don't get charges when using conduit, for instance. |
