" You can't! Sorry. edit: I've added a section that explains flasks. I thought I already had that in there, but it seems like I'd overlooked it, even after all this time. Last edited by Malice#2426 on Aug 12, 2012, 7:28:48 PM

Some confirmed numbers on status ailment durations:
Shock: 276ms per 1% max life dealt as lightning Chill: 138ms per 1% max life dealt as cold Freeze: 100ms per 1% max life dealt as cold All three are capped at considering 1/3 max life - if you deal more than 1/3 max life as that element, the status ailment occurs as though you did exactly 1/3. The maximum durations are therefore: Shock: 9.2 seconds Chill: 4.6 seconds Freeze: 3.33 seconds |
|
so from passives alone, new maximum durations are (without extra boosts from specific skills):
shock: 17.48 seconds (a +90%) chill: 7.68 seconds (a +67%) freeze: 4.33 seconds (a +30%) and for those that don't want to math burning duration lol: 4 * 1.3 = 5.2 game doesn't round so all numbers listed here and previous post by malice will take effect to the decimal in time. edit: added the numbers Last edited by soul4hdwn#0698 on Aug 13, 2012, 3:01:34 AM

The added duration bonuses might not raise the cap.
Extending shock from 3s to 5s isn't so useful anyway, it's more for extending statuses on monsters that have tons of HP. With +90% from passive and +20% from GH, 110% bonus freeze duration. without the bonus, I need to deal 3% of max life as cold damage with my GH to get a freeze. My GH is 60% cold damage, so my attack has to deal a total of 5% of a boss' life for a freeze proc to even get a momentary stun. Not likely to happen without critting, on a boss, so regular freeze procs probably go to waste. But with a 110% bonus like that, I only need: 300 ms = ( x * 100ms / 1% ) * 2.2 x = 3 % / 2.2 = 1.36% damage as cold Again GH is only 60% cold on my end: 1.36% / 0.6 My GH only has to hit the boss for 2.3% of his life to not waste freeze procs. All assuming he mitigates the same %phys as he resists %cold, which is probably not true. But it's in the ballpark. -- I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago. there is a cap? and yes, extending freeze by 1.1 seconds from 3 and 1/3 seconds if dealing 1/3rd of foe's hp, doesn't sound like much at all. but it is IF you're dealing cold damage crits or cold snap.
i based my maximum duration the same as how malice set up. and again i did not factor skill gems at all, it'll get a little bigger for shock and chill length, especially chill. also, why did divide damage by duration boost? which should be 2.1 as that is what +110% is... anyways i see it worked out when you put it back in where it belonged in sequence. couldn't you simplify to: x = 300ms / 100ms / 2.1 to get the new minimum %hp amount that needs to be done in damage to trigger the condition? missing the next step of the cold damage boost but thats kinda easy at this point thanks to my setup. making things linear like chemistry high school level math, is insanely helpful to make things easy. although i went in opposite direction, time -> damage, instead of damage -> time. but whatever XD Last edited by soul4hdwn#0698 on Aug 13, 2012, 5:51:27 AM

this is a video of krip with the life on hit explanation

" I made a test with power charge and frenzy charge. I used Blood Rage + Power Siphon to gain one power charge and one frenzy charge per kill. It appears that, you gain the frenzy charge before the power charge (0,5 seconde earlier). But the two charges had same duration (power charge finished 0,5 seconde after frenzy charge). |

Hi.
Does the pierce effect, that comes from % quality on a Lightning Strike gem stack with a linked Pierce support gem? Last edited by narthagass#3634 on Aug 13, 2012, 7:53:15 PM
