Mechanics thread

that... is one hell of a trip on the grid (btw remove resolute tech as you're a dex class or already have acc). edit: nvm then as you don't even have much dex or acc nodes.

anyways, the reason is because projectile damage passives you picked up. they affect all damage dealt by projectiles.

that cuts out 30% chance to hit...I would be crazy to remove that

How does added fire damage interact with converted damage?

I've read a lot about the mechanics of this game, and have a pretty nice understanding at this point. However, the wiki saying, "The amount added is a percentage of the Physical Damage dealt by the skill," threw me for a bit of a loop. I assume that's just poor wording on the wiki, and that a skill with 100% of its physical damage converted to elemental benefits the same from Added Fire Damage as a skill with no converted damage.

Maybe I'm wrong though? Want to be sure :D

You're right there. % of physical damage added as [Element] is applied to the base physical damage. Only after that the actual conversion steps begin. So even if you convert 100% of physical damage you still get the added damage.

When a value is shown in blue text, it means that the mods are already count.
For reference a majectic plate has an armour value of 378, and 378*1.43=541.

Ok, but if I'm putting on chest with XXX evasion and +YY% increased evasion, total armor equals to:
base Armor + (XXX*YY%),
which is not equal to just adding XXX to base Armor.
SO in this case blue value for the chest doesn't count +YY% evasion?

Here's the example:
for iron reflexes, it works like this: let armor base be C and eva base be D each as listed by your armor and the evasion from level ups. the armor piece that is for evasion and already has +% evasion all equals one piece for D.

then the rest is as explained in the past. (C *armor passives) + (D *(armor passives + eva passives)) for iron reflexes. if you had accessories, those values would go into this step, not the previous. your dex will affect this part.

Added X Damage is additive to the final damage result or does it add to the base before the multipliers?

(SKILLBASE + ADDED X DMG)(1+ELE+X+SPELL)*(Penetration)
or
(SKILLBASE)(1+ELE+X+SPELL)*(Penetration) + ADDED X DMG

Thank you
Question: Iron Grip increases projectile damage, based on your strength. Iron Will increases spell damage, also based on your strength. Do either of these worth with Ethereal Knives? Does Iron Grip work with Ice Spear?

Does Point Blank work with Ethereal Knives or Ice Spear?

Rule of thumb:
(Base + Flat) * (Increased+Reduced) * More * Less

So, before. :)

Iron Grip increases Projectile Damage with Attacks. EK and Ice Spear are Spells, not Attacks. :)

Same. PB specifies Attacks.
