Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary

Thanks - so yeah - Empower + the rare staff let me hit level 27 Vaal Arc - but even the much higher Arc and the extra chain at the expense of inspiration support ended up being a LOSS of damage.

Both in PoB and in how it played out in maps.

I'm better off at level 22 Vaal Arc, 6L Duskdawn and a natural full 6-link than I am with 27 Vaal Arc and the above rare 6-link staff and a L4 Empower.

Tested repeatedly. The DPS loss was absolutely massive.

So I'm not sure I really buy into "aim for super high level Arc".
I guess if we're talking about having a gear set that is worth multiple mirrors it could be, but yeah.

Some additional info:

Your setup is old version of Enki's tree that stacks block chance and gains DPS from it. Of course using Dusdkdawn will give you more DPS - it's best in slot for this cause. But whole reason why Enky changed tree is because block stacking just do not work in the late game. You really should respec your tree to newer version.

----
You using rare helmet instead of Three Dragons, but still using gear priority from Enky - it will not work. This build is designed around Three Dragons and idea that shock is irrelevant. Without Three Dragons you absolutely need Beacon of Ruin for your character be somewhat playable.

You can't use both Elemancer and Mastermind of Discord. So you can't get 2 Heralds or 4 golems. And you need to stack as much "shock effect increase" and "non-damaging alignments effect increase" on tree and gear as possible.

Without Three Dragons it will be completely different build

----
Helm enchantment "Arc chains additional time" for Three Dragons is relatively cheap and we should get it somewhere between Arc level 26 and Arc level 31 setups. It is decent addition to DPS but nowhere near of Arc additional level thresholds.

Sure, bare in mind that this is my first SSF character and only my third league ever, so I'm definitely not a crafting pro:

I have another Staff which I'm trying to six link as well as get +3 Lightning on. Apart from that, I'm trying to craft an Assassin's Mark ring as well - until then I'm running Herald of Ice + Curse on Hit + Assassin's Mark together with an Unset Ring.

Any tips how to progress my gear are greatly appreciated! Also is it worth multimodding the Vermillion Ring or should I reroll it?

Annul this right?

So inspiration should be swapped to empower? In chest too?

Regarding the first question, I probably would not annul that staff. I'd craft as it is. Remember, the glorious days of "can have multiple crafted mods" are gone. You get only 2 crafted mods to add now. So if you annul and you manage to hit the cast speed, when you're all finished up multimodding, you're still going to have to slam it. The question is whether what you slam will be better than 9 percent cast speed.

Now, admittedly, cast speed is a suffix so you have two suffixes on the staff already. When you add the multimod craft, you're out of available suffixes so you can't craft either double damage mod. The question is how important those are to you and whether or not they're worth annuling in an attempt to hit off cast speed.

I'll give you a hypothetical: Let's say you don't annul and you craft the staff as is with multimod then you add bench Percent lightning damage and lightning damage to spells or whatever floats your boat. In any event, you add two prefixes of your choice. Now compare that result to this scenario: you annul, hit the cast speed, multimod on 2x while focused and the prefix of your choice then you slam and hit....t4 hybrid phys/accuracy or something like that. Anyway...some mod that is completely worthless to you as a caster.

You're not going to try to annul that off after you've crafted the thing, so the question becomes which staff do you want to try for...and some of that might have to do with what staff you have right now. I wish you luck either way.

Finally, to the empower question, I believe that empower replaces the added lightning damage support, so you need to go to a 2R4B set up. Enki doesn't speak to the idea of putting empower in the storm brand link, but someone else in the thread did suggest that as an effective alternative a while back. (Originally empower WAS in the storm brand links, but that changed just a day or two after Enki modified the build to the current format.)

Hi HennekY. Going to respectfully disagree here. I’ve been running without three dragons since right around the build change Enki did and mastermind of discord works fine because of the lightning pen. Doing it this way probably would benefit from passive tree changes more towards shock it’s true, but I focused more on storm brand which may or may not work for other players.

Anyway, not saying going beacon is wrong but I can assure you both are viable (for reference I’m at 29 stones and killed sirus lvl 6 at the highest so far. Deathless on everything but Sirus. Haven’t bothered with elder or shaper. I’m a slow progress player who plays when I can.).

Good hunting.

Thanks for such a big reply. Unlike chest where after annuling you can only get random 6th mod, in staff it's possible to do like the guide says

If suffix from Affix Priority but bad prefix: Annul and if bad prefix wasn't removed, start over. If successful, multimod and add a random prefix and Cannot roll Attack Modifiers, then use a Crusader's Exalt. Remove the crafted modifiers and multimod again, then add T1 Spell Damage + Gain Non-Chaos Damage as Extra Chaos Damage and T1 Chance to deal Double Damage while Focussed.

I'm trying to get a real good staff now, so i'm dunno if this worth it or just starting over, since crit chance is not so good either.

Ah, okay. I didn’t know you were sorta looking to hit it out of the park. In that case, yes I’d annul.

just sharing my weapon choices....
Abit of a noob question but when I have Herald of thunder, Herald of Ice & Zealotry active buffs up my mana is at 0 with no regen. How do I get around this? :)
