Very Disapointing Patch, nerfing the few Defensive Mechanics availible right now will give us even less viable builds to play whit and will not increase the build diversity if thats what u ppl wanted especialy in HC, even less melee builds will be played. No Comment about the new gems other then ''Lame''. Overall nothing positive about this patch. People will get 1 shoted all around the place in the new league whit no block and nerfed AA, whats left to play whit ?

Disapointed, very disapointed. I hope GGG sees the mistakes of this patch and changes them as soon as posible, theres is much hate growing around the comunity and it will grow even more when we get into the new league.

Thanks for doing the right thing (the changes were really needed and are most certainly not enough), even if it's disliked by a (very noisy) portion of the player base.

i am a bit disapointed in flameblast not getting a nerf.
a bit more in the scaling of fireball,
i dont understand why the fire trap lvl 22 gets more damage then fireball lvl 22

This is the danger with describing the key content in advance - that the 8 new gems, 26 new uniques and such are already old news when considering the balance changes. There are plenty of awesome new builds, especially now that there's more parity between them. I'm personally excited to make a level 28 Raging Spirits PvP character and a Static Strike Templar as my regular character. Seems like it'll be two Templars for me this league :P


Its nice that you are excited about your changes and are verry happy to make new chars.

I DONT like to make new char and have the personal challenge to bring one char to 100. As a cant play so much like streamers and have to earn money for my family, this patch is the 3 who make this more and more impossible.

I can understand, that you guys are interested to play leages and make new chars. But there are also people who love the char they build and optimised with the time they spend on it and the currenci they throw in.
And THEN. You come and destroy it. And say. Hey its not a problem. make a new one.

If you feel its to easy to play with the new skills or builds are to strong, make mobs in higher lvl stonger or give them abilitys like ingnores all block or reflect 100 % of phys and/or ele dmg.

Destroying chars with changing build enabling things in skilltree and or gems is in my opininon not the right way.

I also understand that some of players don't have job, family and their kids to feed so they can play 24/7 and reach 100 lvl in 2-3 days, ok cool. But like the guy above me said, there are also peps that have their personal life to care and reaching lvl 100 for us is already a hell, not to mention about finding stuff to equip those chars.

Like i said in other topics, nerfs are ok if they would be assigned to PvP builds ONLY, but think about PvE when they will add act 4 with even stronger mobs and some day act 5 etc, what then? you will again change tree and this time buff everything?
I for one am excited. Nearly every "block" character had max block with little effort. Lets be realistic, sadly most players resort to Google and do a "Best PoE builds tutorials" number, so there ends up being very little build diversity, these players also as a result have little understanding about the game mechanics as I'm sure these are the ones complaining so much. Your pre 1.3 characters are not going to be useless... they just won't be the Gods they may be now which is great and makes the game CHALLENGING again. I agree with Chris, the game was getting to a point where nearly every patch was a buff and as a result the game was leaning away from their initial game design philosophy, a Hardcore game for Hardcore players.

you know some people spent months trying to get the currency from farming and trading to get all the gear for their favourite build.And just about time they made it after months u just CHANGE what the items do???not nerf them-CHANGE THEM-!!!

And by the way if u want to make the game more balanced regarding the top players with top gear that make the perfect build that is overpowered we would like to remind you of the people that are new- or casual players - or just people who dont have 200 stacks of exalted orbs in their stash that CANT make the perfect build and they are having difficulty going to maps and farm for gear and exp
How is this a balance since you are making this harder for these people making them unable to stand at their feet in just normal maps with nothing special?
Armour is useless Evasion is epic in low levels but in high levels its useless too ( at least alone- if combined it can make a pretty viable if not the best combo BUT guess what?Acrobatics have 30% less chance to block now so the build i was trying to make for almost a year now is not even viable!!!

GGG i know the game is free and u are trying the best you can do but this patch is wrong, just wrong
i've spent lots of money to support this game cause i love it - i dont wanna see it getting ruined

in future updates try when u are making a balance to affect the new,the poor and the rich people all together not just one of them.

I don't disagree that most of the stuff being nerfed wasn't warranted, but they could have at least buffed some of the older, unused skills to be on par with the newer ones everyone uses. Also, cant believe flameblast didn't get touched with all the buffs to templar passive tree...

The QQ is ridiculous!

Crit and block nerfs, good. Flameblast burning build should be nerfed too, though, I agree.
The nerf to inc. crit. dmg. support gem should have taken place years ago, I mean it was absurdely good, for such a low mana multiplier and now everyone knows how imba crit is, very good.

People mostly whine about "melee sucks", and I agree, it does. But the number one complaint the trolls are making is "FIX DESYNC PLZIZ HURR DURR", and in this patch, they change targeting of Cyclone; a typical fix of the desync! Why don't the same people acknowledge this? I am sure there will be a couple of decent cyclone builds in a few months, with some of the new counter-attack skills. Granted, the mechanics of this game sure is not melee-friendly, but I feel this is a small step in the right direction(the counter-attack skills etc).

Oh, and people cry out "NO BLOCK IN TREE WTF" when there now is like 500% increased defence from shield instead, and more/better armour-nodes, maybe a hint there is something else than block available?

Yes, some things were nerfed. But can anyone honestly say those nerfs were unfair? Does anyone actually believe that being immmune to damage 75% of the time without breaking a sweat is ok? Do people actually believe that one shotting 99% of the mobs in the game is ok?

GGG, you did a great job, please don't feel discouraged by all the criticism. Change is good, balance is good, and will eventually realize it.


The problem is, those long time players, myself included, have played many, many builds.. So if the new gems aren't something to get excited for, then we are all going to get pretty bored, quick.
