I see a decent mace for 3 chaos but there is a decent sword for 1 chaos. Fate Bane Elder Sword 177 pdps. I'd probably get that sword because we don't take mace nodes until much later and you will upgrade by then.

Well, now I'm at a loss. Just crushed Dominus and made it to the A4 town. I found a few uniques tonight that really made things fly by, but I'm starting to worry that I may be getting weak because of them. I definitely need a new weapon I think. Anyway, I'm struggling with mana. I found a tabula with 6 links and no stats on that guy that sells random stuff for coins. I can really beef up my skills with it, but I just eat mana now. Do you think I should go back to my 4L heavy armor chest piece for now? I'm not even using multistrike yet. My links are +fire, +phys, +elemental, faster attacks and fortify with my skill. I'm also using The Princess unique sabre which was great starting off because it was so fast, but I think they damage is way behind now. I'm not sure if any of that helps. How do you think I'm looking? Starting to not feel as indestructible, but may be lacking damage? Appreciate all your help. Having a blast. Oh, also found The Peregrine helmet.. kind of seems really nice.

Hi frenzul, That DPS number is very very low for a six link so something is seriously wrong there.... probably the weapon. As I mentioned to the prior fellow, just go to poe.trade and learn to use the item search features and find a weapon that has around 150+ pdps on it. You don't want something with a bunch of elemental damage. You can't leech mana from elemental damage and it doesn't work with the damage nodes we take.

Make sure you have a mana leech ring or gloves (slitherpinch or wyrm's molt would do for now).

Also as mentioned recently as well, you will need 75 to each of the three elemental resistances and 50+ life on every piece you wear.

Items can be obtained on poe.trade at low cost (1-2 alchemy or a fuse or something) that would be upgrades. Trading eliminates the need to farm endlessly for items as is required in other games and you can progress right away.

EDIT: Well, they cant show their stats for some reason.

So, the blue and first shield has +15 elemental res, and 526 defense, along with 50+ life and some other stuff.
And the brown and second shield has +6 to block chance, this is, 31% of block chance, also 70+ life and the possibility of craft it to get more than the standard 231 defense.

Sov, can't thank you enough for the responses. I had such a blast playing last night, probably stayed up longer than I should have haha.. If I remember correctly, that Princess sabre I have is like.. 1-30 damage +all of it's bonuses. That's kind of why I figured it is the issue. I found that Ice Smash, or whatever it is called.. and love the way it works. That's going to be awesome. Of the three though, Molten strike is still the highest dps tooltip then static then the ice. I think I need to try to find multistrike to use with them. But yeah, a new weapon is likely hugely the problem. I'm just not familiar enough with the game to know what potential damage I could have, at a certain level and just know it's getting tough now so I'm behind.

I'm a little worried to try trading. The few times I attempted to talk to people in game, I couldn't take it. I work a lot, so the little time I get to play, I don't want to deal with people calling me names. It's not worth it.

Ok. I'm going to go read through your guide again now that I got a little done in game, and see what I'm missing. The one thing that has been bugging me, is there a certain time that I should start considering taking the socket nodes? I found a few gems, nothing too amazing.. nothing with shield block yet but at least 2 unique gems/jewels that might help. Should I take one or wait until later in the game?

edit: Just read up on the mana leech and stuff.. makes sense.. also need to pick up CWDT, didn't realize I could get that a while ago. Was just using endurance charge on hit with my counterattack skills.

Probably the second one.

To correctly link items just left click your character icon in the upper left of the screen then left click the item in your inventory (or stash) and a link will appear in your post. You have to do this while writing the post of course.

Yes that weapon is fine for level 10 but after that you need a better weapon. It's amazing you made it that far with it frankly.

Ice crash does not work with multistrike but it's good until you get multi from the act 4 quest. Ice falls behind a little in end game, 16.4 seconds with static vs. 19.5 with Ice crash to do the same thing per the FAQ test results. So anyone wanting the best skill would of course choose static strike.

Trading is easy just search for people online with poe.trade. Just be polite and offer them the buyout price (look for cheap items with buyout only to begin with). The only responses I've ever gotten are silence, or "im on a different league sorry," or a party invite to do the trade, or 'wait 5 minutes until after this map'. Really no problem.

Following the guide you will see that in the progression builds the jewel sockets are taken when you are high level. Generally there are much more important things to get early on.

Wow, weapon is that bad huh? I thought it worked great right up until going through the Aquaduct of A4. Things started taking longer to kill. I just bought that silly mace before I logged off to compare the dmg tooltip, it added probably 75 dmg or so compared to the Princess that I took off.

I did a lot of reading about other things today. Finally understand the labyrinth and ascendancy stuff a little, though I might not attempt it for a bit. Going to look at the masters now. Have no idea what they do other than sell some random stuff.

My plan is to go home and grind out some easy areas a little bit to buffer my level a little bit and maybe get some loot. Look for a new weapon and some of that mana leech. Oh, and also pick up CWDT to get that setup going. I'll leave ya be now and will check in if I make it to a more noteworthy level.

You went from a 33 pdps weapon to a 49 pdps weapon, that's why the damage increase is so small. Should be no problem to get something over 100 pdps at least. You can get a Flesh Eater for almost nothing. Like 5 orb of alteration.

Also a tabula and items with no life on them is asking for it in hardcore. This is not an easy game. Just a heads up.

Could you do a dps test for the 4 link Earthquake - Added Fire Damage - Concentrated Effect - Less Duration ?

It does very well for me during the leveling, i wonder how would it compete at your level.
