Beyond bosses : One of the most annoying features this game has ever had

My initial reaction is that they're overtuned. I guess we'll see.

I'd rather the leagues swapped too, and I'm in favour of non-hardcore game mode. They should've encouraged Hardcore characters to play fast and risk death and let non-hardcore folks run the risk of killing too fast and risking death/xp loss.

I don't like to whine, but it feels like something is off with those mobs. Too regenerative, too fast, too tanky, magic items gear or not. And although I like the challenge, Its just too much.

Here's my guess:

Maybe GGG doesn't want to make it too easy. If they did, when everybody gets much better gear in a week of play, they will seem too easy.

The problem is though, people will get frustrated and quit before getting better gear.

The regen on some of them is insane. Even with the buffed freezing pulse and ice spear (and fire traps), there has been at least one of them that took like two minutes to kill. Just a rare, not even a boss or anything. They have huge life. I'm guessing the large bosses that can spawn are super overtuned.

I have noticed though at the end of Act 2 normal compared to the first act, they are a lot easier. So I hope they won't get super hard on cruel or merciless. Once you have good skills and resist (regen/leech will help a lot too I imagine) they might be easier, as long as they don't jump really high in difficulty. I have a feeling that they will though.

Once I got LMP on my freezing pulse, I was spawning them like crazy. Although they do die a lot faster as well. The FP buff is just so awesome, I've waited for it for a long time.

Also as far as drops, no they don't drop anything like a boss would. But I have gotten numerous rares from them. One of the rares dropped two rares. So in terms of magic/rare monsters, their drops are pretty normal. Maybe they could be a little better.

Since the servers keep crashing, will add my 2 cents.

I agree with the OP, these beyond portals have made the game more frustrating, ie less fun...

Games are suppose to be fun. (Challenging is fine, if I wanted to spend my free time being annoyed I would rather work overtime... at least I get paid for that.)

naturally, there are the "Lol, Noob stop complaining" douchebags along with those with genuine, interesting, and very specific concerns and complaints.

it seems like the complaints laughably outweigh the hardcore alpha nerd 1337 gamers by a factor of like, ah BEELION to one. i feel like the invasion and vaal exploding arrow exile etc arguments were a bit more even than this.

seems like beyond sucks.

but i'm biased.

Just like with invasion, this league starts out with mobs that are overtuned (at low levels, that's certainly true).

Unlike invasion, and in a way that's worse, Beyond mobs spawn too often. At least with invasion you could move more quickly in a given zone after you defeated or bypassed the invasion boss.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
