Why is rainbowstride pointless when it further increases spell block chance?

Because with Stone of Lazwhar + Rathpith + Passives your spellblock is already capped.

Hi Ive been following this build for quite a while now, and im kinda shocked I only have less than 5k dps..... I have 3.5k life and 2k mana. what am i doing wrong?

1. With casters, your DPS is directly related to the level/quality of your gems. Your gems are mostly lvl 17.
2. Your Doriyani's is poorly rolled as is your Rathpith.
3. Your gear lacks energy shield so you are not taking advantage of EB.
4. Lastly, tooltip DPS means nothing in this build as the applied damage is significantly more if you are actively using dual curses (conductivity + elemental weakness).

No offense, but I feel like you don't really understand how this build is supposed to work or you didn't fully read KuteKitteh's guide on page 1. Bottom line is that the DPS in this build is compromised for more suriveability. That being said, paper DPS means nothing compared to the applied DPS.

Okay, this makes since. I was actually not using Stone of Lazwhar because amulets can provide you with a large damage increase. I think I made a good trade running rainbow + GG amulet over stone + koams boots:
so, my 3rd attempt for this character ripped at level 70 to the same thing and I somehow can´t imagne how this should be overcome.

a high physical hit will kill you if you don´t block it since armor is really bad with this build.
it happend to me now about 3 times that I got one hit by a physical hit or several flicker hits.

don´t know what I am doing wrong. I have all gear with high resi, high life, 75% block, lazhwar, except the rathpith but this will not give any protection against physical hits at all.

I got one hit with 3.8k life and 75% spell block in a 66 map from some brutus end boss..

trash clear is awesome, leveling is awesome, build is easy and pretty cheap except one or two items.
would recommend even for beyond.
@Daiena, ACD is useless because the cold damage is so low the freeze time will be negligible.

All in all, Ele prolif is the best 6th link.

@Blackpie
1. Your gems aren't leveled or qualitied
2. You're needlessly running a 4 link Arc with LL. At the very least, put it on a Geofri's if you're not going to properly 5 link it.
3. Link your tree? And what level are you? If you want more DPS, there are always DPS nodes in the tree.

Keep in mind that this is a tank build too.

@Mephos
I've been trying to figure out ways to boost physical damage resistance (e.g. using Lightning Coil) but really the only optimal solution is keeping MoM well-fed and maintianing a high life pool. Math-wise, a properly well-fed MoM is worth more than 20k armor in end-game.

Also, big and slow hits are very easy to avoid, and if it's a dangerous situation I would dual-curse Enfeeble + EW. If I'm in a risky situation like a high-level boss with speed + damage, I'll swap in Enfeeble + EW for the extra eHP.

This is honestly the only reason why I'm trying the CoD setup versus keystone MoM this league, for the extra 10% conversion.

Sidenote edit: I just dropped a 54/44/126 Rathpith (Rampage) that I'm willing to let go for cheap, so if anyone's on a tight budget drop me a PM ingame.

just for your info, before I leave this thread and try other builds.
I was experimenting with vaal storm call and vaal spark (increased duration, spell echo) for single target boss dps and it helped me in a lot of situation.s draw back of vaal spark is that you have to stay pretty close to your target.

Nope, maybe try and get some rarity on your helm, boots, and other ring. I also run this build with MF gear...

I'm jealous of your 81% Andy :)

You can easily get a bit more MF using Blessed Orbs. 6% implicit is the ultimate lowest roll, and Blesseds are cheap, so why not :D I'd throw some at it until it hits 14% or 15%.
