@KuteKitteh - I'm coming up on 75 and gonna start shopping for a Doryiani, just not sure about the castspeed/elemental damage ratio for the best DPS. As an example, which of these is better:

Doriyani's Catalyst with 10% cast speed, 93% elemental damage, %37 Global Crit
or
Doriyani's Catalyst with 9% cast speed, 97% elemental damage, %35 Global Crit

I'm assuming those are the only 3 stats we care about for this build because phys dmg is irrelevant for the spell damage of Arc. POExyz is a bit deceiving in that regard for DPS calculations.

Also, other then the Life Leech, how much better is Doriyani's really gone be then this...

I ask because Moonsorrow and Cybil's was a downgrade from my current wand above.

Started this Build on Beyond yesterday, 61 now.

Survivability is great, but DPS kinda sucks.

My gear:


Right now sitting at 2,4k Arc dps. Any way to improve right now? I have yet to take the Lightning damage wheel.

Update to my earlier post, I pulled the trigger and bought a Doriyani's...

It's a pretty high roll for spell casters, I paid 4ex on Rampage. Did I do Ok?

@Sirpwnz, Grim Loop needs urgent replacing. Also, a Doryani will make things much easier so I recommend you aim for that.

@Ark, you're missing out on a LOT of HP rolls. Try to get more HP on all your gear. Ideally, every item you have should be giving a T1 or T2 life roll.

Also, there's almost no reason to take the mana node above Deep Thoughts over the health node above Cruel Preparation, and you should try to get Purity of Flesh.

@Taiberius, you can think of it as 4% cast = 10% elemental/spell damage. Crit is moot.

And the rare wand you have acts as a 83/9 doryani without life leech, so if you got a Dory it would be more of a survivability boost than anything else.

Edit: That's a very very sick deal you got on the doryani.

@katjezz, try the standard Geofri's Crest setup. Also, I highly recommend that you adopt the dual-curses.

Currently at 3600 HP, 5100 DPS on Arc, Dual Curse. Damage is nice, not as much as my LS crit shadow but far more tanky.

Anyways, i switched to rathpith globe and have a problem with my block currently. I have only 52% Block now.

I´m not sure why you are asking about the block. you didn´t take the block notes which are needed in this build. instead you went out on the right side of the witch starting area for more mana/life etc.

normally you would compensate mana with shield (EB). the more shield you have the more mana, the more mana regen you have.

also, if you use your chest you should not use the build which is posted in the front. the way down to MoM takes to much points. if you use CoD you tree should look like this:



I just build it in a few seconds to compensate for the missing block notes. I would bet with a little tweaking and moving points it can be optimised.

about your gear.

why did you take eldrich battery? it will transform your shield into mana. more mana = higher mana regen = more survial (MoM) /higher AA ..

however your gear has almost no shield except a few mods. I would highly suggest to get more shield gear (with life mods, resi and if possible max mana, max shield). example for my level gear: . rolls are terrible but just as example

replace your boots and your necklace (necklace with lazhwar unique, +1 curse corruption is optional since very expensive)

overall if you have more shield on gear you need less passiv points to increase it which gives you more points for block notes and other passivs. :)

please correct me if I´m wrong, I´m also just experimenting with this build :)

Just wondering how to achiev the 9-10k dps that this guide mentions.

With these and Herald of Ice active I got 6577dps.

Perfect roll doryanis would be +20% spell damage and -2% cast speed. Without Added lightning I got 5757 so does adding empower in it's place really add 4k dps? (almost doubling it)
