[1.2] KuteKitteh’s Tanky Arcer, 20k+ Effective DPS, Atziri/HC-viable. Poor-man’s BM Arc included

so, my first tanky arcer died at lvl 77 as I entered a double dominus as zana mission and didn´t quit instantly the game. sadly its so tanky that I wanted to test how much it can handle. sadly I only had 38% spell block at that time and got pretty much destroyed by the suicide bombers (dominus itself was not that scary I must say, even double dominus).

just a question. I always used a spell totem with arc for additional dps.

do you have any problems killing later the bosses? I noticed that I had to face tank a lot of bosses without the totem up. it pulls at least sometimes aggro giving enough time to kite backwards away.

anyway.. I died with 77 and started again currently lvl 8.. love the build, love the synergy and I hope when I get the spell block shield that this gets to a new level of tankiness ^^

man, I hope I can do it and don´t over extend again ^^
@karaknik, to be honest I've never run Death and Taxes. The only time I ever dropped one was when it was a brand new map, so I sold it for a good price. I hadn't even invented this build back then, so I can't tell you anything about it.

@Mephos, the only bosses I have a little difficulty downing (as in, they take a couple minutes to kill) are Shrine Piety and Palace Dominus because they tend to be a tad tanky for Arc's poor single target DPS. For those guys I would swap in Incinerate + LMP + FC + SE + Firepen and run EW + Flam.

Currently working on a build that runs arc-incinerate hybrid, hopefully that solves the single-target DPS issue with this build.

omg, that would be awesome. however I actually don´t know how to squeeze in all that stuff. I tried to implement the 1 additional curse in the passiv tree since it will take month before I get a lazwar with 1 curse

but yeah, clear speed was awesome but boss single target dps was a little lacking ..

how do you think about "unwavering stance"? is it necessary to take for endgame?
I would rather take the 3 points and go the route with the additional curse in the passiv tree.
this would save ALOT of currency for me :/
Kitteh whats your view on the Battle Rouse node "3% of damage Taken gained as mana when hit"?
@Mephos, Unwavering Stance is crucial. The build wouldn't be as effective without it because of the massive DPS loss and the inability to soak so much damage.

@professorcookie, there has been discussion of Battle Rouse. My conclusion was that Battle Rouse was not an effective solution compared to pure mana regen.

sorry, I just need to clarify this. unwavering stance is used for DPS not defense?
the only monsters that I know who stun are roah with their charge. or I just never
noticed when someone stunned me. so how can this be a dps increase?

it only would be an dps increase if damage sources would stun me on a regular basis.

Precisely this. Since we do not -usually- have as much Life as Life-based builds, we get stunned more easily, and for longer.
So, I think gearwise I am at the end of my progression (noticed that there is only crappy ES Gear on the market :( )

I am experimenting now with an 17/20 Herald of Ice and its fun watching the mobs explode and dealing extra dmg to their kind. Hehehe.

Only Problem so far is the Atziri Kill. Tried it with an RoP Shield, but it did not work. Got now an Saffels and will try it next.

Again KuteKitteh: thx for this awesome Build. First time I really like to play in all the maps. Before I was quite unhappy with a Flameblast Templer, Righteous Fire Marauder and SpectralThrow Duellist :( They all lack this and that ...

BTW: Tipp for those levelling late 70 till mid 80: use the Poorjoys. If you play this map concentrated you will levell so fast ... wooo


Forgot: I am now Lvl 87 and willing to get this build to 94-96 or so...

I died 2 times at the trio because I didn't know that black ground fog thingy almost instantly kills you (even with flasks and leech).
Atziri one-shoted me 3 times in the split phase and I didn't have enough DPS to kill all minions in the shield phase fast enough.

Does using a Saffell's really make the fight easier? Because I lose almost 200 Life, 800 Mana and 600 DPS when equiping it.
@Mephos, yes, less time stunned = more time to DPS. DPS time during stun matters because it's precisely during stunlock when you need to leech and eliminate threats the most.

@phate, Saffell cuts down on your damage intake by 16%, and saffell + PoF cuts down on fire damage intake by 32%. It's totally worth it. Also, swap in a flame totem or arc totem setup, they help a ton with the minions.
