Has anyone tried this build to a high level map standard?

I'm currently level 60... I deal a good amount of damage but I die so friggin quickly it's unbelievable..

I'm always in the backlines until all mobs are dead and by the time they die the loot is gone.. do things get better 70-80+? Because it is painful to see barbarians charge in and snapping up loot.. once my ES is better etc can I be more in the front line or have I picked the wrong class for loot attainment in groups?

This build is designed for kiting. You shouldn't be taking hits unless you NEED to, or it happens and you can't control it.

That being said, being able to run into a group of enemies and run out with your loot most likely won't happen. However, it does not mean it is not possible. What I do, which is still risky, is to pop a quick silver, grab loot and lightning warp away.

At higher levels, make your own party, title it with "respected loot" or "no ninja's" and you shouldn't have to worry too much, at higher levels people are more respectful/nicer to each other.

Regarding the POLL. Two videos will be made, the first talks about the classes and what class would be best for you. The second will cover how to make a successful build.

Shib,

Thank you for putting together this guide. I'm following it on my witch. However, I don't understand the progression of which skills to take. I don't know how much resists are needed and when I'll need those resists. I would like to ensure that I have enough DPS for good killing speed, but also the resists and defenses to survive. Can you add a section on the progression or sequence of acquiring the skills?

Also, I noticed your poll question at the top of the thread. I would like to see a demo video of the build.

It's not a demo video of the build, more of a tutorial on how to make your own build.

Also, I purposely don't have a progression section. This is for THREE reasons
1st) It removes the readers capability to experiment, to make their OWN build.
2nd) I cannot make a guideline for a class, simply because everyone plays differently. If it was more cookie cutter (even more so then what it already is), I would consider it.
3rd) Everyone has different gear, I would need to make upwards to 10 DIFFERENT progressions of the build in order to address all the different budgets and play styles. I don't have the time.

I made this guide not for people to follow blindly, but in order for them to practice making a their OWN build, without the stress/unease caused by making a build from scratch. If somebody wants to follow this build blindly, they can, however this guide is NOT made for said people.

im really sorry if this has been discussed before, but i just saw this thread and might be asking some old question.

1. how about ghost reaver and vaal pact? is shield cooldown recovery is better?
2. what about facebreaker? it provides high multiplier for a piece. but is it really worth it? i'm talking about a piece worth. will a gloves piece net more dps than facebreaker? if yes what stats that it must have?
3. skeleton totem or ice spear totem?
4. will 3 extra power charge help my crit chances skyrocket?

im sitting at 537 damage. 2.6k dps.
480% multiplier. 41% chance.
lvl 81.
around 5k es without any buffs.
and this is my tree.

The first is its implicit chance to freeze, which is at its peak in the moment you shoot the pulse, and then quickly gets less, until "the pulse runs out of time and dissipates". The best/only way to max this chance for mobs that arent very close to you is faster projectiles.

The general consensus is this is not true. The best way to do it is to invest in a high quality Freezing Pulse. 12%+ will do the same job as Faster Projectiles 0% does (minus a little damage), and frees up a socket for something like Cold Penetration or Added Lightning, which will add a LOT more damage.

As for Temporal Chains mentioned above, I personally think Enfeeble is far superior UNLESS the mob is very fast moving and hence hard to hit. Enfeeble is a 30-odd% damage reduction for all damage types the mob can do plus other good stuff on top.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
I'd be interested in knowing how much %ES I should aim for in the passive tree to reach 5k+ ES around level 80. For a health base char my rule of thumb is to go for 220+% from life nodes.
Assuming good (but not godly) gear, is 140%ES decent enough to reach those 5k+ ?

Thanks for the review but I'm not too convinced about your changes, especially the life nodes in the templar area because of Chaos Inoculation.

i would like to say +1 for temporal chains. being able to slow mobs with freeze and curses is the best way to stay alive. enfeeble is ok but you need to think that this is after all a build based on a lot of kiting.

Thank you very much for this guide... I have a question: why to spend skill point in "Increase critical stike chance"?? dont you need "increase critical strike chance for spells"??

Critical strike chance means EVERYTHING. If it said "physical" critical strike chance, it wouldn't help.

So aim for "critical strike chance", "spell critical strike chance" and STAY AWAY FROM any OTHER critical strike chance node
