Lightning Buzzsaw CoC
I just rolled this on a 72 map, it's all I needed to get me to make a CoC char. It's almost like yours. xD Also got a Tabula for the 6L, I guess I'm pretty ready to lvl it to 70 then proceed to rock maps. :) |

" Yeah an update would be pretty nice. In the last vid I saw you used Herald of ice / cold pen / freezing pulse instead of the other gems in your first video. Would be nice to know which route was more effective for you and what changes to the passive tree would be necessary ;) Last edited by Poerger#6427 on Sep 3, 2014, 1:21:25 PM

Hey guys, I made a fairly successful CoC build on my own borrowing ideas from OP. Can check it out here. I believe it to be on at least an equal terms with the Lightning Buzzsaw-er, but takes a different approach to get there.

Awesome build I took bits and pieces across everything on this thread and came up with. Life on hit, power charge, Spectral throw, GMP for single targets and harder maps. Life leech wasnt doing it for me. GMP,Spectral throw,Cast on crit, Arc, Ice Spear, Fire Ball. I use Assassin's Mark to keep my power charges going. Again very fun. Thank you all

Hi Mathil! Currently im level 59 with this build and im loving it. Though right now my single target is absolutely terrible, the only time i can kill rares is when they are in a big group, once everything else dies they take a bit to kill, unique bosses are a whole other story. I couldnt barely kill Captain Arteri in act 2 merciless and i couldnt kill oak or kraityn.
this is my current weapon I was using a tabula rasa with the suggested links. Is there anything i can do that would help, or do i just need to get more crit? |

Just wanted to chip in with my experience (and perhaps help out with the single target woes).
First, my gear. Self found and crap.
Spoiler
Edit: I did buy that shield, for a few chaos. I played Barrage cox EK Arc Pcoc last league. but felt it was too stationary. But its single target is insane. Single target for me is not problem at all. My crit chance with 5 charges is 66%. Use ST Coc GMP Freeze Pulse and Fireball and just face tank it so you shotgun. Of course, you need good accuracy, attack speed and decent crit chance. at 65 I was easily doing Piety. Just be patient with the build, it all seems to come together around 70, as the OP said. Remember, you need to get your COC proc chance up, accuracy and crit chance. This takes time and a challenge on single target un the early days. I'm at 78 now and do all map mods and face tank most things out of laziness. Last edited by Dakilula#0226 on Sep 3, 2014, 9:25:21 PM

I'm not sure if anyone's pointed it out yet, but I think it should be mentioned in the event that you find a Dagger that's already got both good Crit and Attack Speed on it already then having a level 6 Catarina is a very nice benefit, seeing as she can craft +1% Fire/Cold/Lightning Damage Leeched as Life for 4 chaos.
Obviously you need a dagger that already has crit and attack speed for that to make sense, otherwise you'll be far better off by crafting the missing damage dealing stat, but since you can't craft Spell Damage onto a Dagger, then the leech is a really powerful option to take, and one of the better choices. So far I haven't found such a Dagger that I can do that to yet, but it's definitely something I'm working towards, as it's a major survivability boost. Example from the Freeze Pulser I'm levelling EDIT: For anyone wondering how I'm levelling the Cast on Crit build, so far I'm getting really good results from Ball Lightning + Ice Spear, Ice Spear hits really hard for single target, and the reach of Ball Lightning really helps clean up the crowds. Everything seems to get quickly swept up in a flurry of permafreeze and shocking non-sense that works really well together. So far I haven't got far enough in the tree(only level 66) to start taking damage nodes dedicated to a single element, and have just taken a couple of the Elemental Damage nodes in the Shadow start, so both skills are getting full benefit from the passive tree. The effectiveness of this setup may change if I start taking Lightning or Cold Damage nodes, so if I start running out of generic damage nodes to take, I may need to focus on a single element, but for now the mix works really well. It sounds like many of you are simply swapping to the build too early and perhaps going for content too high for the level of the gems. I'm at lvl 19 gems right now and lvl 85 doing 72-75 maps having no trouble on any sort of single targets. That's with ball lighting/arc. Yes, sometimes a certain douchy vagan quest will give me trouble because he can hit like a truck, I'm undergeared and there's absolutely no other mobs around.
As for an update... I've been playing my bow char for about a week and just trying to 6 socket/link a cloak of defiance in the meantime. It took 600 jewelers and I'm 110 fusing in without a 5L. I was hoping to get that going before coming back to my CoC char. I've gotten another level or two today with him though and it's still going pretty well. I'll make a video and maybe show how the standard char is in 1.2 pretty soon because there's not much new to see on the Rampage one. Also, I've also been trying the arc/fp combo and while initially I thought it could be the new best setup it's actually not all that great. Arc doesn't chain off of frozen targets and since FP is shooting out 34863094603946 times and freezing everything, Arc is chaining absolutely never. Which from what I've seen has resulted in slower clearing of packs. While yes the single target is somewhat improved, there are too many loose mobs running around/away because nothing is chaining to them.
