[1.3.0 HC] Zaun's Level 100 Blood Magic Dual Crit Flame Totem (Atziri HC Capable, 200k+ shotgun dps)
Hello, guys!
I have a couple of questions. I'm playing in Hardcore League with this build. My character is Witch on level 61, I did all quests except "Sceptre of God". For clarification, here is my passive skill tree. I followed leveling method given by Tyranastrasz - thanks! My equipment:

And here are my questions: - which flasks should I buy? Quicksilver flask, that's for sure. Would be a good option buying two Divine Life Flasks with "Instant Recovery" - one with "Dispels Burning" and other with "Dispels Frozen and Chilled" affixes? Is it better to grab two Granite Flasks instead one Granite flask and one Diamond Flask, since I play on Hardcore League?, - should I go with one crit-based wand and shield or two crit-based wands? And if with shield, which one to grab? Maybe Lioneye's Remorse?, - should I buy Diamond Rings with resistances or Coral Rings with resistances? Or maybe other ones?, - for rare items, is it better to with armor instead of energy shield?, - would be a reasonable running with Maligaro's Virtuosity or defensive rare?, - would you consider belt with such stats as an endgame item?
Spoiler
+40 to maximum Life
+393 to Armour +98 to maximum Life +40 to maximum Energy Shield +36% to Fire Resistance +31% to Cold Resistance +43% to Lightning Resistance If you have other suggestions not included in my questions or you just want to ask me something, feel free to to it! Many thanks, fellas! Edit: I know this may sound stupid, but do I have enough currency for buying better gear (especially for 75% to all resistances bonus, killing Dominus and farming maps)? I don't know much about that topic, I'm beginner in Path of Exile, anyways. Here you are:

I cant remember the name of the Flask, but 2 Life Flasks who have the strongest gain when it comes to instant recovery are the ones you want.
Hallowed flasks do aswell, as they require less charges per use to recharge. For Secondary effects you want imo: Bleed removal and Shock removal on the health flasks. Move speed (or curse immunty of the quicksilver) Freeze removal on a diamond flask and Curse removal on a granite ( 100% increased armor if you too curse removal on the quicksilver). The diamond flasks is in my opinion to good to pass up especially since you dont have to be afraid of reflect and can kill dangerous opponents faster with it. It also helps a lot for opening strongboxes that lag you. That small damage burst is enough to usually make you survive through occasional lag on opening. Personally I like to go with 2 wands. You need to upgrade yours asap. If you dont plan to switch to a 5l infernal mantle then look out for spell damage cast speed crit chance wands as a minimum, if you do want to switch at some point, try to grab proj speed on the wands aswell. Im aware that on Hardcore the market is very limited, so chose the path of least resistence. The best rings you can have are diamond rings but even on active leages and standard leagues its hard to find decent one which arent overpriced as hell. For starter id reccomend to stick to Resist/life rings which have atleast some cast speed and dexterity if you lack it. Maligaros gloves is absolutely fine and one the better items you can have in this build. For Rare items you dont have much of a choice as it usually comes down to Boots, Belt rings Wands and amulett. Boots should be atleast armor or armor hybrids as they are the slot for the Cast when dmg taken settup of 4 red gems. And the other slots dont provide much in terms of ES/Armor anyway. When you will switch to Infernal mantle you will have like 800-900 es, and considering armor does allmost nothing at low values id personally stick to es as a secondary buffer for the first couple if hits on a map. The belt you posted is definitelly good, but probably to expensive, because it has well rolled secondary stats (ES, Armor) which just dont benefit you as much. Try if possible to look for a more baseline belt with life and resists only, maybe even only 2 resists and craft the 3rd one yourself. Should be much more cost efficient and give you currency left over to improve your other gear slots, mainly the wands and boots id say. Last comment: Killing dominus in merciless isnt something you should benchmark on. At your level you should just farm zones like docks and try to gain some levels and slowly transition into 66/67 maps. Do so only once you get the Cast when damage taken settup with immortal call. Beeing your only defensive settup, it is really neccesary for the random type of mobs that can spawn and otherwise oneshot you when you dont pay attention. Make sure you are aware of the Chaos recipe when you start to get 65+ itemlevel rares and proceed to upgrade gear. And really dont go for dominus at all, its really not worth it unless you are overgeared as hell. |

I'm not a big fan of armor right now but if thats what you want to do the passive choices for armor seem fine.
Dont take the Blaze route at the shadow tree, rather take the sniper route. Considering you will use any form of added damage gem it will be superior. Hell i'd even argue that sniper is better then blaze in a pure fire damage totem. EDIT: For reference i put on only 1 wand and equipped Tabula and i have 9.9k without heralds. Every gem is 21/20 or 20/23 thought fyi. Last edited by Tyranastrasz#7118 on Dec 6, 2014, 3:16:57 PM

" Thanks for checking it out. My ultimate goal is to kill Atziri in the new HC league. I watched your Atziri kill video and you killed her with 10k dps so i figured 8k is maybe possible:P |
|
" 8k Should be enough for that id say but consider using Saffels for atziri herself instead of an armor shield. Other than that it should be doable. Naturally i'd recommend practicing atziri beforehand if this is the first time doing her. |

what do you guys think of the new tree with this build? Specifically how the marauder start has changed some.
|
|
" For the most part im intrigued by the templar area, which finally allows to not waste points on weapon elemental damage and get juice spell damage nodes. Celestial punishment is also very interesting and worth thinking about. In the marauder area im mostly concerned that the easy access to reduced crit damage from mobs has been relocated and not easy obtainable. On the other hand unwavering stance is easier to get now, which probably is worth it as stuns stop one of the most important defensive mechanics of this build: movement. All in all a marauder start is still subpar in my opinion unless you REALLY want as much health as possible at all cost. |
