Dominion's Hardcore Dual-Spark CI Witch - UPDATED for 1.0.1

Sorry for the lack of responses. I'll try to get to them all tonight.
IGN: Dominion / Clamor
Dexterity question:

I cannot level bear traps due to the high dexterity cost for the gems.

I see that Dominion has them leveled to 20 + 20% quality, requiring 151 dexterity. Yet looking at his passives I only see +40 in nodes and only see 49 on his gear for a total of 89 dexterity. How is this possible?

Did I miss something?

@rsalty He has 30 on his gloves and 20 all attributes + 50 dex on his neck.

So 100 on gear, 40 in passive tree and Witch has 14 base dex. 154 in total.

If you need more dex consider picking up both 30 dex nodes in the tree and the 10dex point below inner force if you need even more.

If your gear is lacking Maligaro's Virtuosity gloves have 30 dex and will probably be the best choice once you transition into crit passives anyway. An onyx with additional dex or a jade ammy is also good but only if you have enough ES to drop Eye of Chayula since you will loose cannot be stunned. Another is Perandus Blazon belt that can get up to 30 all attributes. The belt is also nice for the 20% increased Flask effect duration from my understanding.

@Spinley - thanks I swear I looked over his gear over and over and never saw those points on his gear.

I am at 107 dexterity right now and feel I need to work on damage more than the bear traps right now as I am getting through all my 66 maps and will be moving on to my 67-68 maps. There has only been one map I could not do and it was due to the boss room where I had faster casting and more projectiles as a mod and it was filled with undying fire bombers.

My neck piece already has 33 dexterity on it:

I wonder if it's worth it to use that new unique chest to give your totems 25% more HP and the ability to summon a 3rd totem. It has pretty poor stats but I think a 3rd totem might outweigh them.
welp.. after watching that merc vaal kill im most certain ill be using this build next=d

just wondering, is starting as templar for this build alright since he takes the templar passives anyway? i just thought it would be faster progression for me using melee up to 50s

ye probably the beginning of this tree is very weak, you almost need luck to go through cruel with this build due to a total lack of life nodes for like 30/40 lv, and this even if you already have all the gems prepared. And don't be fooled by this vid he is probably 10 or 20+ lv higher than the zone, it really mean nothing, your toon is in fact super weak with this build, a few hits and your good for the soft world. The dps is high, but this vid is misleading honestly. I personally gave 2 chaos to have Vaal merciless killed by a lv80+ guy, because a single rock on my head without a granite up (this mean you need to use it before getting hit right) would have probably one shoot me, this will give you a better image of reality...

It is bad for CI witch, very bad, you lose about 3k energy shield or even more for 3rd spell totem which increases your damage by 50% plus you get all those nasty curses.
This Chest looks nice (for softcore) you could pass on the key stone get a 7 linked spark totem and cast something yourself like more sparks or arc and do dmg while creating power charges while under Bloodrage you would also get free franzy charges.

Arc + Crit Chance + Power Charge on Crit with Bloodrage

Spell Critical Strike Chance Question:

On my paper doll for my Spark damage which is 324.7 right now I don't understand why my spell critical chance isn't higher, it's listed at 11.4%.

I have this shield:

which adds 90% spell critical chance, but it doesn't seem to add to my spark spell critical chance. Is it because it only adds to spells that are in that shield? Since it also has 5% and 31% spell damage also - is that not added as well?

If that's the case then I need to ditch this shield and get as high of ES on it as possible with other mods like mana regeneration, intelligence or maximum mana.
