does build 3 offer greater DPS?

it really makes me wonder why im only getting 2k dps :(

yeah, but it really makes me wonder how @valentia was able to reach 11k DPS. that is my question
any suggestions on how can i achieved that?

He has a 6-link chest and builds as a "glass cannon", i.e. neglects all defences. Furthermore, he has a friend who he plays with who further buffs him with auras and further increases his dps.

People new to the game always think DPS is everything, but I hope you come to realize that this game punishes such builds. First, you do not have the gear, nor a friend with auras, like he does. Secondly, you shouldn't have a glass cannon build, because you will just die constantly and then you will come to this thread and ask "hey guys, something's wrong, I keep dying all the time but have no idea why, here's my gear that focuses only on offense and my passive tree that takes only dps nodes, can you tell me what's wrong?" I've had people posting comments like this a hundred times, just because they saw SOMEONE has a lot higher DPS than them, and they simply decided they want the same, without thinking at all how the said person has such DPS, and what having such DPS really means (and it means being squishy as hell).

So please, milagring23, think about it a bit. After you think about it and hopefully stop being hypnotized by the thought of 10k dps, read what I will write below.

First of all, you have to change your tree completely. I already told you this, but I do not have the impression that you really understood what I'm talking about. Your build will be much better overall (which means not only your dps, but also your defences etc) if you copy the tree from build #2.
Second, you have to link your gear here if you want me to help you. You can do so by clicking on the portrait of your chracter in the top of this page, when you're posting a post. When the pop-up opens, the inventory of your character will be shown. Just ctrl+click each item from your inventory, and it will be linked in your post.

Belt has been bought as it ( weapon elemental has obviously no effect )

Not bad, Malone. Definitely a nice contrast for milagring to look up to some other type of builds :) besides, survivability doesn't exclude dps.

I do understand you're point that i need a good passive skill tree to have that kind of DPS and i know what you meant about some players.

goin back to my gears. i do have a clock of defiance but it still need to be crafted for 6S5L.

For the exact same amount of points, this is how your passive tree should look like:

Get all the free respec points from quests, buy as much regrets as you need, and start respecing, cause your tree is really, really, really bad.


As for your gear:
1) ditch the wands, and get better rare wands or sceptres or daggers. They're pretty cheap and easy to find.
2) you might get a shield instead of the 2nd wand. A shield can also give you a DPS boost, since it can have %spell damage mods on it. For example:

3) get rid of the gloves, and buy rare gloves with ES, life and whatever resistances you need. Mana is also good.
4) you don't need dream fragments if you're not CI. If you want, you can sell it and buy better gear with it.

It might be really nice to run Herald of Ice, especially in the 2nd version of the build, which has the mana to afford it. Will add an update on this.
