Same happened to me when buying a bundle a day before they went on sale.
Suprised, and a little irritated i didnt know this beforehand, i went on about my sorting business and within minutes i was happily moving stuff around in my stash like any other time i bought tabs.
Guess it's fine, though a notice would have been nice.

I'd be happy enough with it if it was stated as policy. Sneaking it in there isn't cool. GGG thrives on good vibes. There should at least be an apology to those affected.

It might not even be intended. And its not happening since forever but just now. Who says they wont issue an announcement regarding this?

I think it's a bug guys. No reason to jump to conclusions yet. That would be a costly silent change that would make some people very angry. In my case, a 30ish dollar learning experience that would sour me to stash tabs in the future. That would be a pr nightmare.

There is one thing true above all else and may not mean much to anyone but me. I trust GGG - Chris to tell us when they make changes. I'm probably blindly optimistic when it comes to this but I have given GGG my full and complete trust and I do think this is a bug that they haven't figured out why yet. Unintended something happening with some update they have done.
Despite me thinking it's a great idea and they should keep it. I fully trust that any change like this would be told FULL in advance and despite me thinking GGG gives to much with the Remove Tabs being there forever - they often give way, way to much away for free and it makes people take them for granted and run all over them - not just once but back up and pull forward kind of run over until the gas tank is empty. GGG is the best gaming company out there with how they tell the community exactly what they are changing in game and I don't expect them to change one bit ever. If they come out and say it's not a bug, I'll be the first to eat crow but I trust that GGG would never do that to the community without a full explanation first.
I'm not above giving my thoughts about it in full detail in hopes they take it into account while they are dealing with the aftermath of cleaning it up but my thoughts mean the same as everyone else - as much or as little as GGG feels like giving it.

So bad news and I'm very surprised at GGG for this because it feels more like a big company underhanded activity but....this was the response:
"
This is intended as a lot of players requested it. When you purchase new stash tabs, it's possible that it will upgrade your "remove-only" tabs into fully functioning tabs.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Jessica
This is more than an inconvenience to be blunt -- it's money spent with no knowledge that this could be the outcome. An announcement would be nice so that people are aware. Ill be bumping this thread for a while just to 'help' GGG to make sure this is properly communicated.
For me, the money is not a big deal but I suspect for some it kind of is. What's more disappointing is the underhanded nature of the transaction....very not GGG like.
I know some will just say remove only tabs are an abuse but that's not the point -- GGG has said they will persist and never announced that new tabs would just convert old tabs.
Bad form. Oh well...each of us will respond differently to this type of approach. I know what I'll be doing which makes me unhappy but some things are just a bit too flagrant to let go.

They also never said the remove only tabs were yours forever. And people have used them for trading in their shops so its only fair when you buy new ones they get converted.

Actually they have on several occasions stated that they will persist forever. Nice try though.
EDIT: But it's actually not about the remove only tabs, think you missed the point.

Just to help you since your blanket statement is not very informed:

Your stash tabs from the challenge leagues will also transition to their parent leagues as remove-only tabs. This is so that you aren't penalised for not having enough stash tabs. Remove-only tabs will last until the items are removed from them. Once you remove an item from a remove-only stash tab you cannot return it to that stash tab.

That doesnt proof your case at all. Nowhere does it say its intended for you to have 4 month league remove only tabs forever.
