Account-bound items vs enhanced loot drops: where is your point of indifference?

I already play account bound (well 99.9% account bound) so my point of indifference is really low (or really high?).

I'd like:
2x recipe yield (double chaos become quad chaos)
5x drop increase for orbs with recipe (minus divine)
10x drop increase for orbs without recipe (plus divine)
2x uncommon uniques
3x rare uniques
5x ultra-rare uniques

The recipe yields would be probably too easy to abuse with the account-bound feature being bound to a piece of equipment you can equip and unequip easily. The increased unique item specifications sound interesting but way out of proportions.

Hmm, I started playing D3 RoS when it went soul bound. Noone suggesting this is forced upon you, it is suggested as optional (unlike D3). Each to their own?

Perhaps you missed the slippery slope part of my comment. This is a 'get your foot in the door' type idea.

The ring should have a gigantic wooden horse on wheels etched into it. That way we can be honest about what it really is.
I'll be more than happy to share whatever insights I might have from my experiences on the matter when you come up with a serious item design, Mr P.
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
I actually reached the point of indifference, eg. where I don't care anymore about proper ARPG play (aka self-found play) and would just want GGG to make that trading improvements already, so I can go full tradecore (which I intend to do anyway in next league).

I came full circle. In Onslaught was playing as GGG intends, with lots of trading and most of my gear was bought. Then I took a pause, because mapping at that time was 1000x more horrible and elite tradecore exclusive than it's now (so there's an improvement). Came back for Nem/Dom where I played self-found and now Ambush/Inv where I started to play self-found again.

But because of less time to play and because of getting finally annoyed with cheap-ass searing bond & spectral throw builds, I now trade for gear, so I can finally try something more "exotic" (aka. builds that for traders are as usual, as shitting in the woods is usual for bears).

Bottom line:

* game is designed to be tradecore
* "paid leagues" are remote mythical creatures, legends of ages long past
* accept tradecore Jebus in your heart and you'll be saved
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
I would never ever play an ARPG with accountbound items. Worst idea ever!
It's not necessary, you can do just fine with 50% increased rarity.

+1. I honestly don't know why people want to see similar solutions in every similar game... There are other games on the market which have items bound on the account and it seemingly works out good for that game and playerbase, so if some ARPG players want to have that option, they should just buy and play that other game instead of wanting to change this game to be more like that other game.

Different approaches to such things are a good thing since they ensure competition and give different players the option to play a similar-styled game very differently; that's one of the reasons i started to play PoE in the first place and i'd probably quit as well if it became too similar to that other game.

My 2 cents
Having run 100IIQ/300IIR+, fuck no. The loot still sucks. The main difference would be, no avenue to get a build enabler.

As to a price? Some sort of transmutation system that lets me plug in the stuff I find for the stuff I want. Doesn't have to be easy, but it needs to not be completely random.
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

Account bound is not feasable without a way to *considerably* boost crafting orb drops and chances to link. Account bound is feasable allready, ignoring crafting.

Everything but the chest was dropped myself, the chest is not strictly required for the build. But i had to buy about 200 fusings in adition to the 150 that were allready in my stash to finally 5l it.

A dd build without a 5l simply isnt feasable. This char was invasion btw, before caska ripped her to shreds in a 74 map. (82)

You might say that my stuff is crap, but it was workable. So, selffound is viable, if you dont have super high gear standards. Would i have survived had i traded? Absolutely. I'd have a level 24 aa and enough mana to sustain it, health on every piece of equipment and much, much higher armor. High-level maps just were too hard and i'd have to farm ages to get lucky enough to get an upgrade. Not that i mind, imho thats half the fun.
