Thoughts on Devoto's Devotion as a helm? Solves Dex problem and adds a lot of attack/move speed. The minus phys dmg dealt is pretty shitty though.
Devotos is a very good helm for cyclone, i forgot to add it as a suggestion for a helm, i usually use it, but i ddint want to add any uniques or very expensive gear in the gear sections since i want to show stats with mostly affordable stuff
the physical damage redctuion is nothing, notice that its a 10% reduced physical damage mod, not less, which means a 10% increased phys damage mod on tree already makes up for it, which also isnt necesarry because it has 16% IAS which gives a LOT more dps than 10% IPD anyway.
Woah. I always thought it worked like Less damage. Damn, I'm definitely using it on my new Cycloner.

But does it compensates the loss of life? If i take my helm out i lose more than 400 hp

Thats really the only downside, you lose elemental resistances and life, but you gain movespeed and attack speed(the dex is also nice for this build), basically its a choice between being more tanky(rare helm) or having better clear speed with a mushier char(devotos)

Ok so what we know now, attack speed is not useless^^. But does it make a difference in terms of damage if you cast "pointblank" or click far away? Or is the only real difference the mana/life drain and the problem that you can´t change directions quickly?
Enjoying the build so far. I've deviated slightly by taking some extra endurance charge passives since I don't have 20/20 gems yet, just a plain lvl 14 (character lvl 67 atm). Playing this on torment to do the challenges, but I think I'll try this build agian when I go back to BL. It's amazing having your sword as a great starter end-game weapon. Lower rolled ones are very very cheap, and having a 430 dps weapon for 1 chaos is pretty sweet. No 5 links yet since I just started on Torment, but a few questions for you.
The gear linked in the main post doesn't have all the gem slots there, but you did list some alternatives.

Nothing crazy, like I said, 1st char on Torment, primarily a hardcore temp league player. I am finding however when using Vaal Cyclone, it can get pretty dicey, especially if you use it and instantly realize it was in a bad position, pulling either too many monsters or having a lot of elemental attackers. I swapped from a CWDT setup to a manual cast max level Enduring/Immortal, pop vaal haste, then vaal cyclone, and that seems much safer. As soon as it ends I can leap slam out, reposition, etc.
I was thinking of switching the Vengeance setup with Vaal Cyclone. Vaal Cyclone - Melee Phys - LGoH - Faster Attacks/Inc Aoe? Then leave my last 4L as my utility setup with Blood Rage, Leap Slam, Blood Magic, and Vengeance. Vengeance just will be unlinked as a little extra dps boost.
I feel that might be safer esp in BL, since obviously you can't move while Vaal Cyclone is casting. Your thoughts?

You should only use Vaal Cyclone as a HC -> SC converter. Too dicey on HC imho.

It makes a difference in damage anywhere you click, you always get more actual casts per second then without attack speed whether you click close to your char on far away you always get more hits.
With attack speed you can change directions a lot quicker than without attack speed, the whole clear speed is improved.

The trick to vaal cyclone is to have it linked to life gain on hit, MPD and FA, this way you will stay at full health because life gain on hit isnt capped by anything, so if you hit lets say 20 that get dragged on you, 3 times a second, you get 3.240 life in 1 second. People use vaal cyclone like this in hardcore constantly. You wont need to use self cast IC if you link LGOH and FA to it.
But i personally prefer having vengeance now since i already clear very fast i have no need for vaal cyclone

Recasting Cyclone depends on your Movementspeed, not attackspeed. Even if you put your cursor onto your character you move a minimal distance. You can only recast Cyclone after you moved taht few steps. Increasing movementspeed decreses the time you need to do this distance and therefore increase your casts/second.
