Howdy,
Love the build. So much fun running around and gathering a huge mob of bad guys and basically chopping off all their heads at once. All my gear is self found. Problem is getting the gems and sockets and so forth. If I was willing to buy 1 or 2 pieces of gear, what would get me the most millage at my lvl (38)? Getting gems may be most important part. I do have a life leech, but its character lvl 51, so I cant use it yet. Also a tip on buying gear would be cool. I wish I could do it self found, but who knows if Ill ever get what I need. Ill post my gear and passives. Any advice would be great. Thanks for all your time spent! I know I have weird slotted gems, but Im just trying to keep them leveled. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUAAnEEswVbFE0WbxmFGjgdFCSqJ-0yiTbpPAU9D1XGV-JZ82aeZ71yqXflfNmDOIuMj0aQVZuhn9-iAKcIp4SsqsAaxPbPZdDQ2t3jauw47m_vfPAf-tI= Peep Last edited by cantilever#4354 on Apr 29, 2013, 8:21:19 AM

There's nothing really wrong with your gear that would require you to go buying stuff. Some more life would be nice, but if you're softcore you'll be fine muscling through until something with life on it drops.
Re-gem your cleave and your problems should go away. Added fire damage is a bad support choice, because it derives its damage from your physical damage, which you have no bonuses for whatsoever on an elemental cleave character. Swap it for life on hit and that should help your survivability a lot without hurting your damage too much. You can leave IIQ as your 4th gem if you like, but I would probably swap it for either blood magic or reduced mana. Get a new cleave gem, and DO NOT level it past level 5. Granite flasks are your friend. At your level they are obscenely overpowered, basically making you neigh invulnerable to physical damage for the duration. If you haven't found any granites yet, that's the one thing I'd consider actually trading for. Be sure you bauble it up to 20% before you trans it. You can alt it to "of iron skin" too, it will last you for the entire life of your character so you don't need to worry you're "wasting" orbs on it like with low level armor/weapons. I run with 2x granite flasks of iron skin, and have since level 27. They are just absurdly overpowered in cruel difficulty (and still very powerful in merciless and maps). --------------- TL;DR: Your gear is fine for softcore. Fix your cleave supports, and abuse some granite flasks. |

" I dont get the TLDR deal. I asked for help and you gave a great answer. Cant believe some would actually not bother reading the help they asked for. I appreciate it a lot, thank you. Yeah IM noticed my added fire gem is not doing much besides costing me mana. I dont have the other gems you mentioned, or Id be using them. Just feels weird not to use all the sockets up on a 4L. Have not found a granite, but I hear such great things. Is it possible for me to buy from a vendor? I read about not leveling cleave. does it matter that much? I stopped it at lvl 8. The difference from lvl 1 to 8 is 1 mana. I keep looking to get new gloves, but the elemental damage is better than anything else. Ive been leveling my life on hit cause I know Ill use it eventually. Ill probably swap out my fire for it. I have virtually no mitigation. So your suggestion for the flask makes even more sense now. How about my passives? Seems I took static blows too early maybe. My damage is over 1k at 38, so Im probably ahead of the game there. I know survivability is going to be an issue soon. Thanks again! I appreciate the detailed answer PS Ive been leveling added lighting & cold damage too. Worth my time? Its not associated with physical, its just flat added lightning or cold damage Peep Last edited by cantilever#4354 on Apr 29, 2013, 4:26:03 PM

" Drop only I'm afraid. You can hope one drops, or trade for one (or two). They're the most rare flask type, so I'd just trade for a couple, they're not that spendy unless they've already been rolled to something good. " In a 5 link that mana cost is going to get multiplied by ~4, so it is 4 mana per cleave. You're going to cleave 4-5 times a second, so that ends up being ~20 mana/second for no real gain. You can get cleave by just starting a level one duelist and running him to town, so there's no reason not to do it. Another way of thinking of it is that it is a 14.3% increase in mana/life consumption rate, for essentially no damage increase. " Yeah with 2x 20% quality granite flasks you can basically have it up as much as you need, and can easily get by without really much armor from your gear. " Eh, I might not have gotten it so soon, but the int nodes leading to it allow you to keep wrath leveled, so it isn't bad at all. I wouldn't waste any respec points, your build is fine. " Even in a 6 link you're unlikely to want to use them. A 6L at end game will look something like this: Cleave + weapon elemental + faster attacks + life leech + [concentrated effect / increased AoE] + [mana leech / blood magic] Last edited by magicrectangle#3352 on Apr 29, 2013, 4:39:04 PM

As far as passives I meant where should my next focus be? Now a good time to get Int and Dex to lvl and equip things? Go for added armor?
