As a witch elecleave, I can't help but notice I probably won't be getting IR until level 65/70, possibly even later, should I just not get it all together and get all my armor from granite flasks/5 endurance charges? I'm on hardcore.

i actually forgot to update the OP it seems with the non IR witch build since after some thought the witch will most likely wear AR/ES gear, with the armor nodes and inner forced determination the build should have enough armor.

Good point there i should probably start writing on that guide soon, the build is pretty much done and it is very fun too. Needed a change to be honest, been cleaving for months now.

That's actually similar to what I had setup without IR, since I had EB and run armor/es right now. I'm not sure if I plan to get RT or not since I have surgeon granites right now, but I imagine when accuracy becomes a problem I'll want to grab that. I had forgot the lightning 18% lightning damage in the witch tree was there too.

The OP's witch build gets IR, but my witch build doesn't. You wouldn't end up getting it until super late in the build anyway, and I wanted a build that felt like it was complete at a more achievable level.

That said, my ele cleave witch is softcore. My build only includes 232% increased life, which is fine for SC, but is a little on the low side for HC, IMHO. The OP's witch build ends up with 308% life, but you don't get a lot of that until late in the build either. With the same amount of point commitment as my build (17 points left instead of 2) you'd probably have about the same amount of health.

I think the templar build is more suited to hardcore, frankly. You've got easier access to health nodes, more armor, and you can use pure armor gear (as opposed to needing some energy shield on your gear).

All of that said, I'm level 85 currently, and I haven't died since level 81 (due to a disconnect, have fun with that on hardcore) so it isn't like the witch dies all the time or anything like that.

I can tell you that with two ample granite flasks of iron skin it is not at all difficulty to run virtually 100% granite uptime.

The biggest challenges for me are map Kole and map Vaal. I'm basically useless on map vaal. I drop my skelly totem, and I run around killing the trash he spawns. I can't go in and DPS him because I'm too afraid of his smash attack (get smashed at the same time the ceiling is falling? You're dead). Map Kole I can DPS, but if he nails me with his big hit I have to run out and leech off some trash or spam my potions, because it hits for more than half my life.

Despite that, I've never actually died to either of those bosses. Deaths are generally either straight disconnects, or desync combined with something nasty like tons of undead rhoa chargers with orange aura.

One hint that is going to sound kind of scary about undead rhoa chargers: Don't run away. Stand your ground and spam cleave in-place. The momentary stun from getting hit with cleave interrupts their charge. This works much better with increased AoE than with concentrated effect, obviously (and obviously also hit a granite).

Dont worry i wont turn my back cause the builds will be in the area, and also that yeah you and your EB fetish will do my head in , if let it slip for a day every build in here is gonna get EB at some point even the duelist XD

Seems like threads that have names like "fuck this shit" and "no one cares about feedback" get more attention than actual fucking feedback, so i might as well spread it around in hopes of the devs considering the things i said in there, and to get some feedback on my ideas there from you all.

Not sure if this was already discussed, but i saw a spec on nugiyens stream where he went through the witch area taking the aoe nodes to move to IR. Do you think this is viable? How does it compare to your build?

Its weaker because there less midgame life, less ele damage, and less armor, but more aoe, from what ive tested and seen starting as the templar and going through the middle is the best way of doing it.

6 auras at level 65 and arctic armour on every single second.
All this with only this as ES gear.

Yeap ! EB is awesome.

I know this isn't really relevant but, you say switching cleave to RoA works too. Would that mean I could make a RoA witch under the same circumstances?
