ReverendBizzarre: ele cleave templar [6k life, 45k+ dps]
Have you realized that your rapier's Red. Mana isn't linked with the auras?

" He's probably just leveling the gem and doesn't feel like burning fusings on a weapon he plans to replace soon (plus if he can run the auras without it, no need really). " For docks farming, a low level arctic armor will make the voidbearers do no damage to you, which should help. Nothing else on docks is really much of a threat. Cold archers are a little annoying, so a thawing flask is good. There's no gems in your gloves, which I'm curious about. Maybe just some kind of forum error? I'm guessing 2x enduring cry linked to faster casting goes there? Maybe also molten shell? Also you've only linked one ring. I started running maps with worse gear than yours. One of the big keys for success there was cursing stuff with enfeeble. I also use a skelly totem to take the heat off, and spam granite flasks when I'm in melee. For docks item rarity in the blue slot is probably good, but increased AoE is a great thing to switch in when you start doing maps. The extra range will keep you safer (and let you kill more stuff at once). |

one more problem i am finding is that i dont have enough mana. if i run purity wrath and anger i only have approx 50 mana left to spend. if i do maps with 50% less regen rate i find that i run out of mana fairly quickly due to missing atks from desync

blood magic one of your static cost auras, or don't run purity (obviously you need purity if it is an ele weakness map).

Ha, I forgot I was running that slow sword. I had a better one in my stash, so that was a nice, free 250 or so DPS. I will look to upgrade my jewelry, thanks.

Hey guys, I've been following the Templar guide exactly and am now level 71. However, now I need advice on what to upgrade next. My first thought is to get 1.9+ APS tri elemental weapons. Suggestions? My stats (with anger/wrath/grace/vitality on) are 6.9k DPS, 5.8k armor, 80% 80% 80% -60% resists and 3185 life (after subtracting 299 reserved for one aura I have to use blood magic to run).

Definitely faster weapons. Tri-element is nice of course, but 1.9+ speed dual element will almost always be better than 1.65 speed tri-element, unless the dual element is like 1-4 damage.

Can you guess which one gives the bigger damage contribution? Yeah, the crappy looking dual element one, because it is faster. Last edited by magicrectangle#3352 on Apr 14, 2013, 10:10:04 PM

Actually, in this case I'm not so sure the faster one does a bigger damage contribution.
If you add up all the ele damage modifiers and divide it by 2 multiplying it by the attackspeed, the slower one actually comes out on top in terms of dps. Faster is not always better, I think a good balance between ele damage and attack speed is good. Mephixara // Lvl 91 Phys Tornado Ranger

Are we supposed to use life gain on hit for the first like 60 levels instead of life leech? Just wondering.. maybe you just didnt mention that because it is common sense.. or that life leech has its special advantage for cleave that I don't know of?

You can try to do the math, just multipy your dps by whatever the life leech % is on your gem and compare that to how much life you get on a life on hit gem. But in general, if you're doing over 2,500 damage, then I would just switch it to the life leech gem
