#YORO - Oro's Sacrifice Perpetual Flickering (Fun and mini Heart-Attacks)

What is it?

• The ability CONSTANTLY use the Skill FLICKER STRIKE without UBER GEAR and without needing to one-hit kill mobs in order to REFRESH the Frenzy charges (needed to override the Flicker Strike Cooldown). This feature makes this build group friendly to some extend.

Backstory
It all started when I've met the "The Oro's Sacrifice" sword, and it's ability to gain a Frenzy on ignite - It was urging for a Flicker strike build.

I'm sure lot´s of people tried this before (because Oro's fire damage is also very appealing), but I couldn't find any thread addressing it's usage and potential for end-game. So I decided to register my experience with it here, as I'm struggling very hard to not give up on it, aside from the thousands of deaths and fine-tuning. That said, it turns out it can work. And when it does, it's just sheer enjoyable. It is an on going effort, so I apologize for not showing how it works on higher level maps yet. I'll be very thankful to any insight that might help improving this approach.

Dear friends, this is my personal effort of squeezing a Flicker Strike Build out of this charming Sword that is Oro's Sacrifice. It's an experimental process, so there is some risk it might not be up to your expectations.

There are great consolidated Physical Flicker Strike builds around, explained in posts from which you would learn a lot concerning the Flicker Mechanics (such as PewPewPew's and KorgothBG's ones).

This build is intended for Level 68+ players. So, if you are looking for a different play style, and won´t mind having your heart popping out of your mouth now and then, you might have some fun. After all, You Only Rip Once.

The following video is a technical demonstration of the Build efficiency. A level 72 character fights against a level 72 map, equipped with average gear (for it's level). The map has no modifiers. Every single slowdown you see in the video is due to desync/lag - the build is really perpetually flickerable.

Gear

* Will be recording a new video with the new build soon.

Item Required:

"
• Oro's Sacrifice Sword: Right now, It costs 1 chaos.

• Doryani's invitation Heavy Belt: your non corrupted source of Elemental Life leeching.

• A 6L Body armor (or 6L Oro's): You can get a startup 6L chest for 1 exalted.

• The Blood Dance Sharkskin Boots: Mostly for the Life Regen per Frenzy Charge.

• Thief's Torment: The only thing that'll bring mana fast enough.

* You can add 2% more Elemental Life Leech from corrupted Oro's or amulet (surVfate).
* Optionally you can use a Alpha's Howl for an additional Aura.
* Doryani's "10% more ignite on flask" helps more than it looks.

Progression
This build has no "progression". It uses an ugly setup of passive Skills that won't help you much while leveling. I recommend you to level with whatever you feel comfortable, then expend some regrets and reboot your character. That will cost you an Exalted Orb or something like that. I, for instance, leveled as a Physical Flicker Striker using 2 handed uniques (Geofri's Baptism, Terminus Est and Kaom's Primacy) while investing on 2H damage passives and Life. When I got to lvl 68, I've made a full respec.

Why you'll love this build:

"
- Mini Heart attacks
- You'll be able to FLICKER STRIKE IN PARTIES / GROUP GAMING (because your frenzies come from ignite, not kills)
- You NEVER run out of frenzies and therefore, will ALWAYS be flickering
- NO BLOOD RAGE, therefore, no Chaos dot.
- You can Perpetually Flicker Strike a single target (Boss, Rares, Uniques, Exiles and Players)
- Stuff burns
- Your shoes will match your sword in a very fashionable way.

Why you'll hate this build:

"
- Mini Heart attacks
- Your damage won't be as awesome as with Physical Flickering Builds
- You might... err.. teleport to the boss before expected
- You might hate the fact that you liked it aside from all above
- You won't be able to show off your tooltip DPS e-penis, as the Tooltip shows it all wrong
- You'll get mad (I did) about the fact that most of the Skills and Support gems have additional Physical Damage that WON'T be used at all

Most common Cause of Death:

"
• Desync: This Build is seriously Desynclicious. Bind a /ooc macro to keyboard and always keep the trade/world chat open (somehow it seems to force sync with the server for most people).

• Magic One Shots: Physical Mobs won't have the opportunity to kill you most of the time (due to teleport, Long Immortal Calls and massive amount of Armor) but Magic ones will. Stack more Life on the gear if that starts to happen, so that you can recover from the hits.

Gameplay:

"
- If you don't have starting Frenzies, Leap Slam into a group.
- The Leap will give you 1-3 frenzies (it's supported by "chance to ignite")
- The Leap will give you some Endurance charges(it's supported by Stun and End. Charge on melee stun)
- Flicker around
- Continuously pot Quicksilver, eventually pot Mana
- Monitor your Life for Poting.
- Watch out for Elemental Reflect (leap slam out of it when detected and them flicker more carefully around those mobs).

Your hit's will be perpetually providing frenzy charges. With some descent leveled gems and all charges up, you'll be working over 10% Life Regen + 70 life gain per hit which will keep you alive most of the time. And when it doesn't, you'll pot. This is not an AFK build, awareness is required for this to work.

Skills:

"
Main attack: Flicker > Multi strike > Weapon Elemental Damage > Faster Attacks > Splash > Life on hit (or Fire penetration on easy maps)

Startup Attack: Leap Slam > Chance to Ignite > Stun > Endurance Charge on melee stun

* Oro's Sacrifice Have Culling Strike Embed, so you'll be using a 7L skill against most mobs (ignited ones).

"
First Cast when Damage Taken (level 1): Increased Area of Effect > Enduring Cry > Enfeeble > Rejuvenation Totem

Second Cast When Damage Taken (level 11): Molten Sheel > Rejuvenation Totem > Iron Will

CWDT will keep Endurances up, will add some dps with molten shell and will be dropping totens all around.

Utility:

Essential Auras:

"
Mostly Clarity - but if you have enough Mana regen, go Grace for hard maps, Anger for easy ones.

Passive Tree:

"
Current one:

My current Build state

* Build work for either Marauder, Duelist and Templar. You'll have to change only a couple of starting nodes and that's it. Templar could also become Energy Shield based.

Bandit Rewards (by Kussler88):

+40 hp (Oak)
Attack Speed (Kraityn)
Frenzy Charge (Kraityn)

"

Gear:

Resistance Cap > Life > Elem. Damage (if possible) > Mana & mana regen

Current Gear:

Any input here will be very much welcome. I expect to be posting new videos and cover the leveling of this character while showcasing how the build works on higher level maps.

- Doryani's invitation Heavy Belt: your ONLY source of Life leeching

Well, the 1% of Fire Damage Leeched as Life Corrupted Mod can be roll on an Amulet and the Oro's Sacrifice itself too.

Video added bro. It's just a simple showcase of the gameplay. I'll have something more challenging filmed soon.
New gameplay video with a level 72 char against a level 72 map. I believe this is more of a efficiency proof than the one I had before.
Bandits?
I guess:
+40 hp
Attack Speed
Frenzy Charge

Well reminded. That's exactly what I took. Adding to the OP.
Question: Is there any benefit from taking the "Avatar of Fire" Keystone? Oro sword seem to deal NO physical (or other elemental damage) whatsoever so my first guess is that it's useless for this build. But if somehow the "Avatar of Fire" computes the damage that it "could deal", then it could improve the build. Any thoughts?
The avatar of fire could only be "useful" ( and that's a strong word ) if you have flat physical damage on your gear. With the AoF it will become fire damage and will increase your dps.
