I say start with how you envision your character and get creative. For example;
1. My first character I wanted to build a dark and assassin-type player so I chose Shadow class and named him as Skuuga (it comes from Skugga in Swedish which means "shadow". = replaced the extra 'g' with 'u'). 2. Then I wanted to build a tanky, warrior type character so I chose Marauder class and named him as Artashr (it comes from Artashir in Armenian form of Persian Ardeshir, meaning "great warrior" or "lion-king." = removed the 'i') 3. Third character I chose Templar class for Dual Flame Totem and named him as Eazar (it comes from Azar from the Ancient Zoroastrian word for "fire". = added 'e' in the beginning). I like names with meaning and if you guys do to, check out this link. Great list of historical names with meaning. Let me warned you though, a lot of them has been taken. So modify it and get creative! |

" Thats very creative. Congratulations. :) People that claim there are no names available are just uncreative, so many websites can help out with names its not even funny. If names were deleted or something then people who want to play their chars again will have problems. There are people who go away for month without being able to play POE like soldiers for example. It also helps asking GGG if they could contact another player to free up a specific name, im sure they could help. |

I bet 5$ that SisForSWAG is taken. : - D But to be frank, there should be some "name-purging" mechanism on the server. If someone comes back to the game with his character nameless, just pick new name for him/her. Amarite? Also, this could make some sense into being "forgotten" - you know, nameless. I dunno : - D
Having to name my every character with XXXX_YYYY is just getting retarded. Also names like IlikeTOeatStuff are in fact no real names. Nowadays 99% of people are called that way, and it is just doesn't fit dark PoE's theme. You're exploring dark dungeons of terror with iJUSTfartedLOL - really? Also, name transfer between your own characters could be a cool thing. Or even name change service - you know, for real $$$. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. Bad argument. So does thousands of others just like you. That you didn't get Batman is not the end of the world. Don't like joke names? Read some history. Tons of names to choose from still. But the one that kills me the most is the hatred for the underscore. I use it all the time. Genghis_Khan is taken, but try another _Khan. Use Google translate to convert a favorite to another language. I prefer Latin translations myself. But whining about lack of names hasn't worked since the earliest days, so don't hold your breath. |
