[1.2] Sidra's Guide: Acrobatics Based Physical Crit Split Arrow Ranger (Atziri Kill Video Inside)
" I can see why you are having a DPS problem. Other than your quiver, if I looked at your gear I would have no idea you were playing a Physical Crit Build as it is all lacking both physical damage and crit chance/multi. It almost looks like your tree is one build, and you gear is for another. The following will help your DPS tremendously: 1.) Get physical rolls on your rings, added bonus if they are Diamond Rings. For ultra budget both of your rings have a prefix left just benchcraft it on. 2.) Get at least 2 of: Physical damage, crit chance, crit multi on your Amulet 3.) Purchase either a Rat's Nest helm or Maligaros Gloves. 4.) Belt's not listed but should be a Rustic Sash with life and resists 5.) I think your physical projectile gem and frenzy gem are in the wrong spots 6.) Benchcraft attack speed onto you bow 7.) Use some of your next 8 points on DPS - high priority to Heart Seeker and Death Perception I am not sure what kind of budget you are working on, but each of these things will have a notable difference, and combined it will pretty much be like you are playing a new toon. Hi, i'm having a hard time sustaining my mana with this build.
Is there any tip. I have 107 mana pool available after hatred and grace and i have 4% mana leech. Doesnt look like a mana leech problem, it look like my mana pool is too small, how you did it with chain without acuity glove? Have fun! And go buy my stuff...

Is any of your 4% from the Mind Dirnker node? The 26% increased mana it comes with goes a long towards increasing your mana leech rate. If it is, I'd recommend trying to get a mana roll on gear somewhere to increase it further.
If that still doesn't work - you may have a damage issue. I took off my Acuity and ran with under 100 unreserved mana the other day testing this for someone else and it worked just fine. My Phys Crit Split Arrow Ranger Guide: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/919885

" Thanks so much. My gear choices are really about what I had. My gear is all from the rustic sash 3-5% days, so I actually have a life implicit belt too. My gear choices aren't really choices, they are about having enough strength and intelligence to wear my gear, and to barely get to the resist cap. Now I know what to look for though, so thank you again. Sorry about having the gems out of order, I was testing the support gems. I'm surprised to see you recommend attack speed over crit multiplier on the benchcraft of bow. I'd really like to get a Harbinger with the same DPS, but they are so expensive. | |
For some reason, I didn't think crit multi was a benhcraft option but I just checked..and it is. You are correct, I'd definitely recommend it over attack speed.
And good luck ^.^ My Phys Crit Split Arrow Ranger Guide: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/919885

Here is my mana leech related data - this is with replacing Acuity with a pare of rare gloves with phys damage.
Mana: 620 (77.5 leech rate) Mana Regen 10.9 Unreserved: 99 Split Arrow: 37 Attacks/Sec 2.6 (.38 attack time) Phys Damage: 598-1239 (918.5 avg hit) So with sustained fire I have 96.2 going out and 88.4 coming in, literally over 12 seconds of sustained Split arrow firing which is far more than you would need for it to be smooth. The same calculation for me at some point prior to the patch I think was like 4 seconds and it was working fine. Also of note, an average non crit would only return 18 mana for .23 seconds of leeching, less time than my next attack, which would cause intermittent leech (this could not be your problem, though, 4% mana leech fixes it). Crits are 7x that for 1.4 seconds obviously way over my firing rate and well into sustained leeching. I crit at 59% so I don't really have continuous non crits which would pose a leech problem if, say, I was trying to run this at around 40% crit chance. You did not list your mana in order to calculate your leech rate (12.5% of mana) or your mana regen. You do attack considerably faster (what kind of bow are you using?) with a little bit average weaker hit. You have 142 mana per second going out. Assuming your mana numbers were the same as mine, you'd be out in a tad over 2 seconds. Definite danger zone you'd probably need more max mana to support, or slower attacks. Hi Sidra,
I'm almost following your tree on my 2nd ranger (which currently uses the gear of my main one). Current tree at lvl 84 Expected tree at lvl 90 As you can see, I've traded frenzy charges for Deadly Draw. This costs one more points but we get about the same damage on frenzy and it's more versatile for general purpose as I use frenzy only once in a while, so I may not have my charges loaded. I mainly use split arrow. Single target is mainly puncture or burning arrow (which is surprisingly strong now, and good for phys reflect maps). Ranger builds list: /917964
When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch. Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart... |
