[1.2] Sidra's Guide: Acrobatics Based Physical Crit Split Arrow Ranger (Atziri Kill Video Inside)
Now that we have the 1.2 skill tree, Sidra, what are your preliminary thoughts?

Heh - we got threads all over the place but I will post it here. Damage on the tree is about the same, but we will get more evasion and more movespeed.
But this build is going to have a huge life problem. If you are just running low and mid maps - or always play in groups - it won't matter much. But this build, specifically, was made to handle high level difficult map mods while killing bosses. And with a loss of about 1k life, that makes that task nearly impossible to do with any level of safety. 1.2 version will have to skip hard bosses or risk death whereas the 1.1 version killed them. It has enough HP to farm Atziri still and the extra movespeed will be nice. But I wouldn't walk into the harder map bosses with tough mods with 4700 hp with this build. Thats a good point.
Maybe a crazy bow ci works? ;-) |

Thanks for the impressions. It seems surprisingly hard to come up with a bow/SA build for 1.2 that promises to work solo, for difficult bosses. I never pulled off a successful ranger in the past, but wanted one for the new league. Lots of relative dead ends so far, though, at least if the aim is to be able to run hard maps with challenging bosses.

Getting the scion life wheel is enough to lose close to no hp, though

" You will lose damage instead then :P It's a pretty big hit to high-Life Evasion Ranger builds. IGN : Ericaa

" I keep seeing people saying that, but if I put a new tree next to an old one, it's honestly way more possitive than you would think. For instance, compare this tree with Asidra's 1.1.5 one:

Life stays the same. Flat physical damage decreases by like 20%, but accuracy goes up by 30% and crit chance goes up. If you then look at the defensive side it gets ridiculous. 100% more evasion rating than the 1.1.5 tree 80% increased life flask effect +7% movement speed +2% life leech Those accuracy points can be traded off for more physical damage if you prefer, and I guess the tree isn't completely optimal yet. But the point stands: you really don't lose much with the new tree. You might even be getting tankier. Last edited by Epps on Aug 18, 2014, 4:54:49 AM

Getting more Evasion isn't going to make much of a difference if you can't get your Life up to comfortable levels where you can survive 1-3 hits without dying. Armour has damage reduction, but Evasion takes full damage every hit. You HAVE to be able to survive hits when Evasion rolls against you.
Every calculation has shown that most high-life Evasion Ranger builds will be losing between 10-20% Life compared to the current tree. IGN : Ericaa

" Hrm? I just posted you a tree that would keep high life the same. Taking Sidra's life as an example: 5662 life with 256% increased maximum life from the tree. On the new tree that would require: (5662/3.56 + 94*4)*x = 5662 => x = 2.88 So it would require 188% life on the tree. The tree I posted had 187% life. I saw a couple of the calculations you mention, but some of them assume things like getting 140% life on the tree, which is not really realistic for having that many passive points to spend.
