I had a l61 character lying around that I could re-apply skill points on. I tried to make the build I talked about, and it is somewhat viable.
As Dmillz says survival IS a problem. It is hard to get all the aura nodes along with the life nodes. Unlike Madcow's suspicion damage from Anger+Wrath auras are added to the projectiles (as the wiki also says: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Molten_Strike), and damage seems to be OK. But as Madcow says not quite as good with the ST build. Also, LMP/GMP isn't worth it for this build here either since other gems just give better results, and that kinda screws with the whole idea of getting damage from the auras. All in all I'd say that it probably could work on a standard league, but really you just get better results with the 'normal' path of getting your damage from physical weapons. | |

Hi I really liked the guide and was wondering about respeccing my 2h double strike Maruader into Molten Strike. I started it one night and ended up being underpowered but liked the build.

" with 79 points you're at level... 65ish? It's hard to give that up but it'd cost a lot of regrets to rework the tree for Doryani's catalyst. Sword nodes and 2H nodes. It'd be easier to reroll if you have the time. Molten strike is the very first gem you get (ok 2nd gem, 1st reward) so you get to level it up as you do. Pacific (GMT -8) Time

" Hmm ur right, (u saying that made me realize i missed a quest). I respecced, and now may drop the tree going up to sentinel? (I dont see much emphasis on atk spd in this build is that correct?) Gem & Gearing suggestion update
Did some testing in some 73/74 maps today and found that dropping LL for Faster Attacks and running Carnage Heart was a great boost in damage and the same if not better sustainability. If anyone else can confirm this that would be great. This is probably a change you wont be able to do right away until you have a decent 1h weapon. this is NOT mandatory. Only a suggested change for people with about 10c to spare to get more out of the build. Focus on just getting the 9 or 10% LL as well as good roll on the resist all. " Hey Fhark, as madcow mentioned if you wanted to roll MS, you are better off restarting. It is going to be a huge investment either way to respec your character and if you take gearing to the full level all the sword nodes will be wasted since Doryani is best in slot. I say reroll a MS character and keep your 2h toon for a variant of play. IAS does has its uses for MS but I would go out of your way to grab it, at least not until 80+. Far better things to get before then. | |
