" Hi Ali_B We choose BM gem over Mana leech gem for the simple factor that it is hands down the best choice for our set up. Both require a gem slot. So running BM gives us the chance to run a second aura. Now if you want to stack mana leech on gear, this is another entirely viable option. Ideally you will want to pick up some mana reserve reduction nodes though, easily doable with this build. This way you can run two auras and keep swinging at the same time. You can simple drop an aura in and not pick up mana reserve reduction nodes but the dps will remain the same or maybe be slightly more with not the worry of having to carry mana potions. " well it was doing fine up to lvl 66 with a 475 pDPS mace and only 4-linked gear until my POS modem decided to just full-retard. so i sign back in using my tethered 4g to find my char on standard. great build otherwise, though like i said earlier i'm curious to know how far people have taken it as it was getting a bit questionable in the sewers/marketplace even with that mace and all the damage nodes taken AND using blood rage. I can't really imagine breezing through merci, never mind maps. thanks for all the help! |

I have yet to really find a situation this build has not face tanked, merc, maps, dom, etc.

About those AoE nodes near Templar (or any Aoe bonus).
Lets say our MS does 100 projectile damage and we know Ms projectiles spread within 5 to 20 area points. This 100 damage will be the same throught 5 to 20. With 20% more Aoe, those projectiles will spread an area within 5 to 24 (It is said that the 5 never changes). So... Point Blank will give 150 damage in the 5 to 10 area and then will get as low as 120 at area 24 (according to PB mechanics PB only loses/degrades dmg after 35 distance points). And the Amplify node even gives a small boost of 8% more area dmg. This sounds like a damage boost right now. The drawback would be the less -concentrated- spreading of the projectiles. More spreading might mean less enemies hit near the player and more misses for small groups or for bosses. But then again, one projectile's damage gets more AoE too... so this might even things up and in the and, AoE IS a boost for MS projectile damage. (when I started following this build I had it wrong about Point Blank, thinking its upgrade/degrade effect was relative to skill's distance. But since the node has fixed area effects, small Aoe damaging skills like Molten Strike (5-20points), seems to only gain while a Fireball would have its boost in the 1-34 area but then at 34 to 120 it would only loose power) Last edited by Falcyon#4703 on May 21, 2014, 1:50:53 AM
