1.3 The Community's Molten Strike, Face Melting Build!! 1h+shield and 2h variants available

op seems very upset about lmp/gmp questions which i dont understand since multistrike gimps the projectiles dps too and only buffs the melee hit (and yeah throwing +6 lower hitting projectiles out..)
turns our 4 hits ( 1 initial, 3 projectiles ) into 12 hits ( 3 initial, 9 projectiles). Please see the spread sheets on the main page. We have tested every possibility of gems. So the reason I am tired of GMP/LMP is because all the information is provided yet people keep asking over and over, especially in game.

Much of the testing was done between a handful of people, all who confirmed the same results. Now if you have some hard evidence that supports your thoughts please post it, we all would love to see it. Every bit of DPS counts.

Just use some base values and calculate LMP/GMP vs Multistrike, you will see that the community is right.

I'm planning to switch to sword and board assuming that I should only be looking for dps and attack speed since all damage is converted to fire. Am I mistaken? I also want to know if elemental damage with weapons mod is as useful as increased physical damage for this build.
Ya pretty much. I wouldn't worry about attack speed as much but that is my prefference. Multistrike is enough for me. WED are worth taking but really on the three in the templar line. With AoF 1 point of increased physical is equal to 1 point of increased weapon elemental damage. But the thing is generally increased physical damage nodes have more value per point. Generally around 10 to 12% and ranging to 24% or so versus weapon elemental nodes that only give you 8%, except the templar 24% node.

i know that multistrike was fixed for lightningstrike which "nerfed" it alot, before that the less damage from multistrike would not count towards the projectiles but now it does

would be strange if multistrike would not lower molten strikes projectile dps now

but youre probably right the 3 melee strikes alone might make a good difference

the damage reduction only appears to effect the initial hit which then in turn effects the projectiles directly. The projectiles are a product of the initial swing and the damage it deals.

The initial hit will be nerfed by like what, 40%? So if the main swing is reduced by 40%, the projectiles are reduced by 40%. Multistrike lowers everything. It is working proper and is still a huge boost to damage. we reduce our dps by 40% but perform it fully three times. 40% is just a number, its actually lower then that I believe.

with some VERY rough calculations:

LMP = 1500
Multi = 2650

multi takes just a smidge longer but its negligible.

Also the volume of projectiles coupled with point blank means lgoh at low levels and LL at high levels will mean your life bar will stay full even in the most serious of fights. If it don't 1 shot you, it wont beat you.

So my Dual Wield Crit (Non crit version available as well) Has progressed through normal and is into cruel... VERY undergeared and DESTROYING everything. I feel very confident in posting it now so if anyone wants, let me know and ill put it up. If not enough people want it at the moment I am going to keep focusing on leveling :)

note this is a duelist start.

I like to post my feedback of the build thus far. Currently level 66 and running maps.

My gear. Yes, some of it is mediocre, but, I'm using whatever I can find to overcome Lightning Coils -60% to lightning resistance.

Sitting at 2.3k tooltip dps and 2.8k life.

From normal to about the end of merciless you can pretty much tape down the Molten Strike button and faceroll your way to victory. The only problem I have was killing merciless Dominus. He basically had his way with me.

Tried using AoF but found out quickly that my gear selection needs to change before I can even attempt it again. Same goes for two handers. Used my trusty Goefri's Baptism for a while but the damage output was soon underwhelming compared to my getting slapped around by mobs. So, I switched to sword and board and am much happier with the results.

If you're looking for speed kills and facerolling then I'd suggest looking at another build. AoE dps is lackluster compared to other builds that I've tried but single target dps works well. There are only a few mobs out there that I've had to kite to dispatch. Other than that you can pretty much stand there a brawl with the best of them.

Hoping to find/purchase some better gear as I would like to continue to level this build.

If anyone has any end game gear suggestions, I would love to see them. Especially regarding boots, gloves, rings, belt, and ammy. Not much was said about these particular pieces.

Anyway TL;DR

Regards.

Thanks for the feedback Bowman :)

Use poe.xyz.is to search for any gear that needs upgrading. Set the paramter for, min lvl50, +max HP and add 2 resistances you want with a min. +20%. You should have no problem upgrading every piece of gear and it will only cost you 1C at the most per slot.

I was able to cap all my resists even with lightning coil and it was about a 3c investment for me.

as far as weapons you will want to start looking into a decent one for mapping. Again use Poe.xys.is and you can find some decent ones for very cheap. You could easily find an upgrade against geofri's for 1 to 3 chaos.

Dont pay for sockets or links on your weapon, that is what your chest piece is for. This allows you to get a much better dps weapon for far less.

Once your gear is back up to par, not legendary or great, but par, your dps will be up there with the best of them :P Still won't be a glass cannon blender but you won't ever die either.

Thanks for the info Kartikdon. I'll use the search parameters you pointed out and see how it goes. Don't know why my gear didn't post. User error I'd imagine. :)

This is what I'm currently wearing.
