1.3 The Community's Molten Strike, Face Melting Build!! 1h+shield and 2h variants available
Level 39 as of now, and I have survivability issues only if I get dumb about taking on bigger mobs. Then again I don't have access to a lot of the gems needed for this build. I'm missing multistrike, concentrated effect, CWDT, grace, and reduced mana. I'm running my skilltree 100% as suggested in the OP. Then again I am also geared with shitty gear.
I'm running this gem set-up with my 5L as of now: Molten strike - lesser multiple projectiles - point blank (will dump this for something else once I get the keystone), Lifegain on hit - weapon elemental damage. anyone have these gems willing to sell them to me? " I wouldn't consider it mandatory. At first I considered it to be, but after running the numbers and really thinking about it, I don't think it is a great pickup unless you have a 6L and are running Fire Penetration. The problem with this is you should only be using Fire Pen in a 6L as Concentrated Effect is much much stronger (even against fire resist mobs). Also Avatar of Fire is pretty lackluster until you get higher DPS numbers. You need a good physical weapon and some WED gear to really make it scale. Also if you are running AoF Flammability has to be used on almost everything to be worth it. IGN: Dmillz

" IF you run AoF does the weapons dmg even matter give that all dmg is Fire based? My guess is the DMG of the weapon is the starting point for what fire dmg is to be delt ( Prob answered my own question ). 2nd part is, Sword and Board going to be needed for higher end maps? |

Well, over the weekend I got to play around with this which was awesome. I see there are several more pages added which is nice to see.
Currently level 49 Some of the builds are very similar to what I am doing (very) which is also great to see. The spreadsheet helped a good amount and I think I am going to stick with my current path. As others mentioned Life Leech on gear/passives just won't work end game. No matter how much physical you add from tree it will not work. Casting off BM makes it too difficult. One thing I see a lot of is the use of Life Gain on Hit vs Life Leech. I'm curious why. At the projected DPS (not counting projectiles) Life Leech should be better (with Avatar of Fire). Add to that the life regen from the tree of 4.5% I would think you'd be ok. Anyhow here's my build at 100 pts.

Fast I attack the more projectiles spit out. The tooltip can't show you this and that is key (another reason I will likely go haste over hatred) I could switch this to mace if you get one with elemental damage with weapons. It could be better possibly. BUT if I ever drop a soul taker then we can drop BM from the chest and be insane. I won't hinge a build on that though. vaal haste - increased duration - enduring cry Chest - any armor or evasion or armor/evasion (armor easier to get the colors). Life and resists of course. Molten Strike - Weapon Elemental Damage - Life Leech (got to look into life on hit) - Blood Magic - Multistrike - Concentrated Effect (i don't generall love multistrike but I think it'll do the same damage as faster attacks with seemingly more attacks and that's what I want.) Shield - Highest armor or ev/armor with life and resists. Cast when Damage Taken - Increased Duration - Immortal Call (level as you level. Starting with level 1 or 2 cap working to about level 7 cap in early maps) Gloves - Increased Attack Speed!! You want that. Then life and resists Elemental Weakness (quality on this makes it surperior to flammability) - Flammability/enfeeble (may swap them depending on area) - Blood Magic - Leap Slam Boots - I'm using Windscream for dual cursing :) Heck to the yeah. I dropped these which is why I'm using them mostly. Otherwise not a necessity. Flame Totem - GMP - Culling Strike - BM (that skill can be anything. just want to cull. Lightning strike works too. Spectral throw if you can get the 3 off colors or you can swap this setup with the glove setup.) Amulet/Rings/Belt - Weapon Elemental Damage helps a ton. life and resists. Extra armor/evasion is always nice. Weapon Swap this is an optional thing but I like to do this. I would on my main if I had the room. Not enough mana else my culling strike would have IIR gem. Any Skill - GMP - Culling strike - Increased Rarity Arc would work or another Lightning strike or spectral throw or possibly spell totem and spark? Use this for bosses if you have enough time. Or in a party you can use this if the other members have good enough damage and AoE. Would using an Oro's Sacrifice be helpful in any way when taking AoF or would it end up being a decrease in dps?

" Huge decrease I'd assume. Molten Strike derives its dps from physical converting it to fire. Oro's Sacrifice has zero physical 100% fire. So molten strike would have nothing to convert from and probably be zero. Pacific (GMT -8) Time
