Garena is adding skill tree resets as a micro transaction in 1.1.3. Thoughts?

well they where giving free stash tabs and pets for people who play on there sever.... i guess you can say things like this would lead to p2w aspects... but the bigger picture in this is how PoE losing players rapidly and fast ( only 6 months in to release ) how this will lead to things like this...

yah its a p2w aspect... cost currency for people to respect and money for others...

Who the hell drew up the contract, then?

Fair question. Either it was in the contract and GGG didn't object, or the contract gave Garena the freedom to make these decisions as they see fit. Either way, this couldn't have been done without GGG's consent.

Additionally, who is doing the coding for this? Does Garena have access to the source? If not, the programming necessary for this option (the server portion of it to support individual resets after payment was made) must have gone through GGG, too.

full respec is already coded in game, whether or not a different message is displayed i dont know, but the ability to unbind all skill points with a switch is already implemented. How it is actually activated is pretty trivial given the api support is there. It will be a micro transaction, but not necessarily one sold in PoE's store? May not even have specific in game support, but done from a garena manage games screen. I dont have any experience with garena or any knowledge of the discussions, but implementing the skill reset is not a large undertaking, and doesnt even necessarily need to be an in game action, just a pipe through whatever interface garena might have in place between their accounts and GGG.
Hey...is this thing on?

I think it's more pay for convenience than anything else. Think about it : You go to merc Fellshrines, you kill all rares and collect a set of items, do the chaos recipe and win 1-2 chaos orbs, convert them by trading or at Clarissa with regret orbs. You do it enough time and you get 100% the orbs which are sold.

You can, on the other hand, get multiple regret orbs easier in exchange of money, you don't win ANYTHING.. it's just like stash tabs, it helps supporting the staff and it does not give you any real mean to win poe.

GG
Good vaal orbs : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/840813

If garena started selling exalteds in their MTX store would you still say that's paying for convenience? Yeah, you can do the chaos recipe and eventually buy an exalt or you can just get the exalt immediately using real money. You can use the chaos recipe to get regrets or save up to get exalteds, so by your argument buying exalts from garena MTX store would still be paying for 'convenience'.

It meant a lot when the numbers showed 40,000, and we were told that Steam players accounted for half of the player base.

Can't have it both ways.

But PoE is in the top-25 Steam games still, so I don't get the excitement. If PoE peaks at 10k players a day, combined, then that is still pretty good for a F2P. Not as good as Warframe or Dota2, but still better than most.

That was then, this is now. People jumped to Steam for some reason and many came back to solo client. So, things change and only GGG knows the facts besides 40k players at the same time maybe but not over time. I can play today and not tomorrow does that mean the game is dead when one day a few play and another a few more or less?
Terible idea for our server i never want that.

Who cares about what they do in Asia it's thare turf let them spend thare money on a passive reset , idiots.

It still affects the brand as a whole because that Game is called "Path of Exile" too.
