Thx Fox, i think the build remains strong with the addition Herald of thunder which replaces the loss of haste. In addition, the rework of the Templar tree just makes the passive tree more efficient point-wise without the long route to marauder. The major difference is the loss of the maximum fire resistance. In patch 1.3 the build only be sitting on 92 fire resist without flask because it is not efficient point wise to go to get the +1 fire resist on the tree where life-regen is more readily available.
Sharpner, you can't. Lv21 Purity of fire + Lv3 empower = Lv24 Purity of Fire which gives +5 maximum fire resist. This build use aura effect nodes and buff effect nodes of 80% in total to buff the Purity of fire to give +9 maximum fire resist. RF burns with 90% Fire resist - 11.11%hp/s <-(Lv20-22 Purity of fire) 91% Fire resist - 9.98%hp/s <-(Lv20-22 Purity of fire +Barbarism node) 92% Fire resist - 9.07%hp/s <-(Lv23+ Purity of fire) 93% Fire resist - 7.94%hp/s <-(Lv23+ Purity of fire +Barbarism node) Current Tree Life regen 9.17% hp/s As a result, it is highly recommended you to buy one. I believe it is around 7ex in standard league. Alternative option: Spending points to get Arsonist (+1% life regen) and Barbarism (+1%fire resistance). This way you need to cut some damage nodes.

Just put together a quick tree what i thought was a good tree for rf arc. Was bored.

Some key stuff with the estimation of running PoF 21: 8% life reg, this is obviously to much lol. 126% max life, can move some nodes to buff this up, a lot of hp nodes to be taken. 63% buff to bring Purity of fire 5% up to 8% total fre res with phoenix, 92%. 75+8+8+1 Degen with 4500hp 4500x0.9=4050x0.08=324x1.21=392.04 degen. Regen with 4500hp 1.65x1.63=2.67+8=10.67=4500x0.1067=480.15 So as you can see i got a bit to much regeneration here so you can move the scion 0.4% nodes to other places. WOW a new tree for Rf arc from Fox. I missed hearing another opinion on the build. It is an honor to discuss this build with Fox.
Very bold move on dropping the shadow side. Nice scaling of arc with Lightning dmg and elemental damage. One question, what auras will you be running for this build. It appears that you will be dropping some auras from not taking some reduce mana reserved nodes. (Note Empower+ purity will reserve more mana) Some random thoughts inspired by your tree. If you have so much life regen, why not go for more life regen and drop vitality as a whole. Although it might not produce the best dps, it is super tanky. Some problems with my new tree -> a bit too much mana regen. Anyway, usually when it comes down with the manaregen its all dependent on what kind of gear you have, Pure sick ES based gear will bring a lot of mana to the table and you can remove it from the tree. So not gonna throw any points into regen out there. Didnt think of dropping the reduced mana nodes in the top left, as i said the tree wasnt 100%, just wanted to show the highways of the new tr. The more precise nodes need will need to be carefully selected through a playthrough :D. Auras would be vitality?, Clarity, Purity of light, Purity of fire... If possible herald of thunder. Might be a tough one to fit all this in. Possible with alphas maybe? AA is allways nice to have. But i smell a AA nerf in 1.3 well see. Vaal grace and vaal haste sounds like a lot of gem slots. No room for flame surge? Still the 7 points in marauder for maybe skipping vitality looks promising. Nice work. Makes me wonder about reflect aswell since the Total lightning res will be lower this time around since before 1.2 and room for vaal pact seems tough. Odds are ill be giving this build some love when i got a high char in 1.3 and a fair amount of respec points =P. You mean atziri's foible right? Atziri's foible is one the best amulets for an AA arc\rf build imo, untill you get better gear ofc, but you should never have them in the lategame. The amulet for a witch is the holy grail, A paua amulet with Prefix: Spelldamage, Life, %ES and Suffix: Castspeed, Lightningdmg and manaregeneration. That is the one and only Arc amulet. Assume 2000 mana, lv21 POF&P0L place in alpha's (so not using empower). The build will be able to run Clarity, POF, POL and HoT with 382 mana to spare. " assume around 20k arc dmg and no flask nodes. reaching 84 lightning resist without flask => give you some precious second of popping flask be4 reflect kills you. with topaz up, most reflect will be manageable (atziri reflect impossible without flask nodes; double ele reflect might still be problem) " If ggg nerf AA with mana drain, the build will be okay with that, since we get more mana regen from the new tree. If they nerf the damage reduction, it will be the league of lightning coil and cloak of defiance for sure. ------------------- Just tried Alluring Abyss with this build today. Failed miserably at double Vaal with 94 lightning resist(with topaz flask in effect) and a 4.8k hp pool. Might be because i don't have flask nodes or my skill not good enough. Still the damage those lighting damage it does is ridiculous. tanking is not an option. the changes of shock stacks to 1 stack 50% with vaal guarantee shock when laser hit. OPOP. With 20k arc damage i still find trouble clearing mobs spawn by vaal. The arc damage of this build requires to standstill dish out, but vaal's ball lighting/ laser just don't allow you to do that. I am slightly disappointed the build unable to do uber atziri (note this is not a cheap build, almost max spec.)
