Vulnerability is a multiplier and increases the damage way more than projectile weakness but proj. weakness should work, too. It's just not as good.




I'm pretty sure Projectile Weakness does not work with PA. Vulnerability is the damage curse to go with this build.

Is desecrate worth keeping as extra damage if I wasn't going to use DD? I was thinking about replacing DD with firetrap.


I've been using both Fire Trap and Desecrate Trap but I ended up sacrificing CwDT for it. Since you are already having survivability problems I'd recommend dropping Desecrate and using Fire Trap + Chance to Ignite + Concentrated Effect + Fire Pen/Increased Burn Damage because it's the only way to deal with totems (add in Bear Trap too if you have sockets left).

You will need to get AA to max level (level 21 AA + Empower is very nice but kinda expensive) and have a decent mana pool free for MoM to get better survivability. I also have Profane Chemistry + Herbalism + Alchemist for strong potions and I really like it.

Movement speed on boots is also a factor, one of this build's biggest advantages is being able to do damage while running around or keeping a high distance from mobs.


found this bow in rampage, does the crit chance effect traps?
is this spec uber viable? I already have lvl 4 empower and can afford the rest of gear, just want to know how easy uber is with this spec

Crit doesn't affect the clound damage. The Spec is uber viable and a lvl27 poison arrow (corrupted gem, +3 to bow, lvl3 empower) is enough for uber. It isn't beyond-uber viable and not easy at all because you have to dodge close to everything or you'll just die.
Does Witch get any of these skills from quests in the beginning or should I get them from a different character who can get them faster?
Few questions and I would love info from someone who has played this recently;
1. How does this build deal with one of the bigger drawbacks to trap builds (IMO), which is having to deal with the recharge time on the traps? From some of the vids it seemed like a non issue, toss one trap and everything dies in the poison cloud, but that won't always be the case.
2. How does this handle timed Zana dailies solo? My current trapper (crit tri ele) can't clear fast enough sometimes and I end up failing.
3. Is DD 100% needed or can something else be used to the same effect? I get that DD is mostly there for killing of totems and chaos immune but is bear trap possible to take that place? Or does DD just do too much damage to replace it?

Shadow doesn't work well with this build if you want to run MoM+AA. Way too many points wasted at the start. You will probably need to reroll Witch if you want to go that route.

Shadow may not be the best in terms of min/max, but it'll still work well if not just as well.

The shadow start is off by 3 points, 1 of which isn't bad, so besides the class starting stats of mainly int you lose 2 skill points.

I just don't like the witch char; her dialog just rubs me the wrong way, so I and avoid making chars that start with her just a person thing.

currently playing the build (level 81 on rampage) so heres my input

1. you have desecrate dead traps and DD for that matter, you will kill at least one mob with PA trap - or just throw a Desecrate trap and hit DD.
2. i find those zana dailys to be a pain in the ass for every bow user, as you have no movement skills, i just do them with my reaver tbh.
3. DD is pretty much needed. bear trap is a bad idea because a - you cant kill any totems at all now, immunity aura totem = you cant kill it. i think raiz made a good job by selecting DD because it interacts well with carcass and does DoT-damage, too via burning prolif. you could possible take something else there, too. why not flameblast? or maybe even flame totem or incinerate? should work good aswell, just not so much synsergy.

you ever thought about using rime gaze? that way you could replace conc effect with bear trap and run both?

Notable changes from the Raiz 1,2 tree is

I didnt get
1) No clever construction (this one was a big search on this topic) my feedback.. i got no problem on 76- map i run so far i barely notice any traps to not trigger maybe 1 in 2-3 maps not a big deal)

2)No Hired Killer (20life on kill dont looked good enough for me for 4 extra points)

3)No life regen (I feel also the 1% is not that much important to spent the points there)

What i got instead
1)Charisma (this make me able to run both grace and determination with clarity)

2)Deep thoughts and Cruel Preparation instead of Mind Drinker ( I got the same mana but more mana regeneration and little more increase area for cloud)

2) I got Master Sapper and herbalism (this is what i am planning to get when i get to 90+. sapper is extra damage, radius and some extra max traps. Herbalism is overall great point to get and since i dont have life regen this sounds good)

Whats your thoughts about my tree. I wana say again that i am playing on rampage and not in HC league
Finnaly i want to know some feedback about alternatives to DD and some feedback
imo:
didnt get:

1. QoL imo. better be safe then sorry, theres loads of annoying leap mobs in this game to make hassling with them annoying when they do hit your traps.

2. havent specced that either.

3. preference.

did instead:

1. 3 auras, only one aura node with AA and MOM? seems like a really bad idea to me. especially because you need a high level clarity, too..

2. you get mind drinker because its the fastest path to corruption, too - so imo you screwed your pathing a bit and got less than you think out of that trade.

3. ten points minimum for things that arent worth it imo. master zapper is 'bad' because you only use 2 different traps, and can already set up 4, which leaves you with exactly 2 traps not on cooldown. more traps only means you can have more on the ground, cooldown doesnt get less. do you really need to have ALL of your traps out at once? i certainly never do.

imo if you have 10 points left, get the rest of the life nodes you can, herbalism is nice, the way there isnt. imo get ballistic mastery and heart of oak instead.
