[Official] Kripp Wand Templar

Level 51 now, dealing some damage but still struggling. Characters my level do a lot more DPS than me...

I wonder when comes the day that I actually deal as much damage as Krip... :p
Loving this build so far. It is my first char and I play almost entirely solo so yeah, I knew it would be a challenge not only getting the necessary gems and gear but also levelling. Good news is it really starts to shine once you get some decent wands. I switched over to dual wands from GS and LS around mid 50s and am lvl 59 now in Merciless having a blast (no pun intended). Doing 3k single target dmg/2.1k AoE and my gear is average at best, hardly optimal so lots of room for improvement still. I love running multiple Auras and playing with a sliver of unreserved mana lol (97.5 regen last time I checked). Great spec, lots of fun and challenging. Thanks to the OP for the build.
Why not Frenzy for your single target attack? The wiki says you can use Frenzy with every weapon type (and even with no weapon).

edit: also, why no CI? Reasons I can think of:

1. harder without gear already acquired and this build is already gear dependent
2. you really need the mana from eldritch

But in trade, you can use perma blood rage, become immune to chaos damage and have a lot more hitpoints, it also frees up flask slots.
Beyond league.

Level 72 with a lot of success. Solo for the most part and I found leveling and farming a breeze. This is also my first character in PoE so I was fresh coming in.

Nearly 7k single target with 7 charges up and 1.5k AoE and my gear isn't great, although I do have a very nice ele wand which helps a lot.
BigKnox

playing witch with a very similar build, lvl 63 now

leveling has been a breeze but it's not my first character, i had some starting items, like at lvl 27 i used a +55 elemental damage wand (far more damage than normal for that level) and i used elemental hit since level 19

i have two questions

1) i really don't understand why elemental hit isn't used as the single target attack, power siphon doesn't add much damage;
i really don't get it, am i missing somthing about poewr siphon?
i know you would need some dexterity nodes but they're right there

2) why not take those power charge duration nodes? i think the extra seconds make a huge difference in keeping the power charges up almost constantly, but then again maybe you can do it without them, i don't really know as i haven't gotten to the late game maps yet

i would also like to know why elemental hit isnt used. would a lvl 15+ ele hit not do more damage than power siphon for single target?
Can someone please tell me when you switch to wands how do you respec those 4 melee points at the starter area??

Elemental Hit attacks with a random element, so you wouldn't be able to reliably shock stack like you can with Power Siphon.

Taken from the Path of Exile Wiki:

Spoiler
Shock

Shock causes affected targets to take increased damage. This can be stacked up to three times on one target. In this state, monsters or players take 40% more damage per instance of Shock from all sources. Under the effects of 3 stacks of Shock, an enemy would take 220% of the damage that would normally be done without any Shock effects, no matter the type or source of the damage.

Now with shock applying on crit and Power Siphon generating Power Charges, which increases your crit chance, you will be shocking targets a lot and that doesn't take into account that the Static Blows node gives you 20% chance to shock on hit.

Power Siphon also has Culling Strike built into it.

You answered your own question.

doesnt elemental hit attack target with one of 3 element + the cold/fire/light elements that u get from aura and gear

so lets say u use ele hit and it chooses fire, but other element from gear/aura apply also right? so even if it hit with fire doesnt it still have a chance to shock because u deal lightning damage at the same time
