Once again let me reiterate why it is unfair to buff drop rates for SFL but before I do let me say that I played self found to level 70 ground slamming things until I farmed enough currency to play trade tycoon.
Its unfair because other players want to play this game and they want to have a good time and fun experience. Items are part of that fun and if GGG buffs drop rates for the SFL they are giving more fun to that group of players specifically which I feel is unfair.
Now I have a dilemma do I play SFL to get moar drops to have more fun or do I stick with trading which is also fun. It will put me in limbo and a lot of others to, to the point where we will just move on. It will create a divide in the community and hatred for one another.
Bottom line is its a bad idea.
If GGG did this at launch it would have been all good because its a system that was implemented.
But if they do it now, that would mean they are giving the minority what they want and when the majority wants something what's going to happen?
Any trader playing a SFL that has even 20% increased drops across the board will be sorely disappointed in their net *wealth* in said league. lol

Wow, now I am even more confused. Your dilemma is that a SFL would be fun so you don't know whether to have fun playing in a SFL or to have fun playing the trading leagues? What a terrible dilemma. Sorry for the sarcasm.

Please don't try to play the minority card. Not cool to make assumptions like that, especially in a thread that has a poll.

If you speak the truth and you truly think trading is fun then there is no problem. Both groups are having fun. It's the same as some people that are having fun in both ambush and invasion.
If you lied and secretly you loathe trading then you need to reconsider your entire argument and maybe start rooting for SFL too.
i use a secret account because i am a politician that doesnt want the NSA to know i play poe.

yeah I think were done trying to reason you sry man.

Thats fine, but using your personal experience as an argument doesn't work when you really haven't done it.

Wasnt easier than waiting, it was just quicker,
No arguments here.

trading is a pain in the arse. You want a league where its quicker without the bit where you have to trade, you cant be bothered waiting either, and you cant be bothered trading.
I actually can be bothered to wait which is why I want the league. I would enjoy finding stuff, crafting stuff, and not feeling like I am playing badly by not participating in the trade game.

Never said that at all.
Muling gems invalidates that character being self found. How the fuck does a character that has no access besides RNG finding them get his hands on gems that he can't have with rewards ?
The entire end game gem setup is focused on something the character din't find, but was given. lol
Yah my highest list hardcore character is 71 solo self found and beaten merciless Dominus the same number of times as your 74-75 hardcore character, and when/if I return playing I'll delete the current list and start over yet again your point ?
If you want to be taken seriously about the finer aspects of why solo self found is lacking,I suggest you try it out.
=)

All these folks arguing back and forth, making death-defying leaps of logic.
Watching it unfold is more fun than actually playing PoE now. Good job guys.

I disagree with the majority of what you have said. Understanding the game and the build you are playing comes from in game experience, just because you copy a build doesnt mean you understand it. I dont think 95% of people copy builds and I think theres a difference between copying a build and making a build work, making it work requires more than a lot of people have to give. Hence why so many people on the forums are just doing it wrong, if you have a clue about this game you will know what I am talking about.
All you need to "make a build work" is decent gear. Sure, experience helps, but with guides like this: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/445390 - there is zero guesswork on how the build actually plays. I can watch a streamer and without looking at his build, just what skills hes using, the number of auras/mana reserved and gear, and completely recreate the build on the skill tree with a high level of accuracy.
As far as playing the character goes, that's not rocket science. Spam your 5/6L ability, curse, and don't get in over your head, and if you do, initiate alt+f4 (GGG approved strategy).

Trading is a skill in this game, gear is easier to get from trade? Well yes, if you can afford it, how do you afford it? by selling gear you found... you have to have found an item to trade for an item, this isnt D3 with an RMAH, that whole logic just doesnt work in this game. You dont find trading fun, neither do I, theyre working on a new system for offline trading through the forums, so its all good. I find being in a trade environment fun though, it adds a lot of layers to the game. To be good at trading requires knowledge of builds and items, people cna hate on it all the want, Im not a big trader, but I appreciate that its not something a noob can walk in and win the game with. I respect those who love to trade and are good at it as much as self founders.
You say you don't like trading but you like the trading evironment? Well, I loathe both, so to each their own, which is what SFL is all about, giving people who can't stand trading a place where they are on equal footing, and a chance to actually see decent items eventually.

Everyone goes on about playing the game vs trading blah blah, and I look at their characters and their tops are somewhere between 70-85... I cant help but find that funny. I PLAY the game more than you guys, I find things myself more than you guys. Someone like Hegemonica who is a trade tycoon plays the game WAYYYYYYY more than I do, finds way more stuff than me. Its just such a flawed argument when you look at the reality of the game.
Never finding any decent items kills my desire to play, trading does not provide any rewards for me, since the experience is horrible. It seems to me that the more you enjoy trading, the more it encourages you to play. I've had my fill of "kill monster - get money to buy items" in D3. Selling unidentified rares for 2C to a NPC is not nearly as fun for me as it is for the traders it would seem.
