[1.2.0] UPDATE CI Fire Trap/Fireball Searing Touch Shadow/Witch Build w/High Damage!

Adding a crit tree tonight as well as a leveling progression.

I would switch to CI at 3k ES. Once you take CI and the nodes behind it, you should be well over 5k ES with Discipline.

Added leveling progression with Life and switch to CI. Crit trees now posted as the main build for now. You can take power charges with assassin's mark, but it is not needed if you stay burn damage.

Can you make a life based variation on the build? Cause good ES items are very expensive to buy :)
This build is focused on CI. I could do a life build, but it would be theory based. I may add a tree this week but I won't be able to test it as Life. Should work fine though.

What lvl does the firetrap evolve into something like that on your video?
Right now my firetrap doesnt look anywhere near yours and I'm currently lvl 31 on my Shadow.

Thanks!
If you have a searing touch and it is linked with decent supports it should be like that always. Of course at like level 60, you start it leveling gems so then it slows a bit.

As far as I know, weapon-specific nodes doesn't affect trap crit chance, why did you took those staff nodes? :P
Hello,

This build seems very interesting, thanks for it.

I have few questions though...

1) Your final build is crit oriented (u take a lot of crit nodes), but leveling guide avoids these nodes (until CI is taken). So you only spec to crit nodes when you respec to CI, is that correct?

2)You may want to add a section about weapon alternatives - Searing Touch gets pricy for newbies. Even a one socketed can cost 1exa and more (not to mention its price when there is a fresh challenge league). And I am sure there are weapons ppl can use instead of this (awesome) unique staff. Myself I dont have problems findinf alternatives but adding a section about it may improve the popularity of this awesome build ;-)

3) About the tree - in final build you take the trap/mine nodes in the right side of the tree. Specificaly I want to discuss Clever Construction node (traps cannot be damaged after thrown). I tried this build and even while playing on normal I noticed few problematic kinds of monters which instantly destroy your traps - for instance mobs using cyclone. Even though this is not a problem early (say normal and cruel) it might get really annoying later. Is there a reason why you dont take this node earlier?

1) It is really up to how you want to play the build. You can go Crit or Burn or a mix of both. I personally love both. Crit is better once you are higher level as you can stack a ton of crit. Burn is probably better to level as it is constant with chance to ignite and doesn't rely on a crit as much.

2) Searing Touch is pricey, but it is also not a super expensive weapon for someone not on their first build ever. 4link or 5link is just fine even for end game maps. I'd probably just get a wand/shield if I was just starting out and put the FT in the chest. That is unless you get a decent staff drop.

3) I don't take it earlier because I didn't find it to be necessary. It is definitely needed end game for quality of life.

It does work in this case. See the exact wording. %increased global critical strike chance while wielding a staff. Just wielding/wearing the staff increases your global crit chance.
