Time for a "Hardcore" 4 month league? Invasion isn't it.

I also wish I could play a Hardcore version of Ambush. Why? Because I want to play Ambush, and I want my currency/drops/characters to transfer to Hardcore when it is done. Simply "deleting the character" isn't a fix.

Invasion is a joke. I have loved every league so far until Invasion. I think Ambush is the best yet, and Invasion the worst... even though Onslaught was quite boring.

My friends and I have played the HC leagues since the first day of Open Beta. Invasion is the first time we're opting out, and I think we're not alone. I'm sure GGG will see it in all of their data collecting, and hopefully choose to abandon most of the bosses and general idea after the temp leagues end.

I suspect all of this is GGG's way of saying "hey, guys, start some actual characters in the permanent Hardcore league, we don't have many playing there anymore."

Is it working? I have no idea.

The 4 month leagues are there for experiments on a large scale, mechanics that they couldn't test in a week long race.

That being said, I am very sad that there is no good tests being performed IN races, like has been suggested forever. Only one is that resistance change in CB, and then they stopped doing that despite getting good feedback from the race

I was thinking they wanted us all to play Ambush. Maybe they decided Hardcore isn't the preferred playstyle anymore?

Consider their stance on Alt+F4 allowing harder encounters, maybe they prefer softcore so they can design more brutal challenges like Atziri.

I would say it has worked a LITTLE, definitely more people have stuck around on HC than when Nemesis came out. Not a lot more, though.

I believe that Invasion was "lets make people stop complaining about hardcore being a snoozefest"

I feel 'in general' they did well with boss difficulty. As there are people able to get to high levels and not die it IS potentially possible (though some bosses are overturned), but hard.

But they also made the big mistake of risk vs reward, where the reward for taking on these hard bosses is not worth the time

Three of the bosses are level 79 map bosses that can suddenly appear in early areas of Merciless. Saying that the bosses are 'overtuned' is an understatement.
I thought HC players wanted a challenge? Now you get one and you're complaining like scrubcore players?

Isn't my ambush character higher level than yours Ice? Despite me not playing that one cause I got bored of it?

And technically allbusiness, overtuned can't be an understatement. It is a direct statement saying it is tuned to a point that is above that which it should be. It is '>x' where x is the correct tuning, and it includes 2y>x and 400y>x

Most HC players actually complained more about desync than anything, because it affected them more.
